  1. We are 3-10 in extras this year. If we are even 'below average' at 6-7, instead of terrible, we are 1 1/2 up in the division, not 1 1/2 down. Is this more on just a lack of big clutch hitting, or the pen? I can't imagine any MLB team has a worse extras record than us, much less a winning team.
  2. Bullpen threw 7 innings of scoreless ball tonight, and gave up a bomb on a good pitch. Bullpen for the season is a different discussion but I have no idea why anyone is complaining about the pen tonight.
  3. The bullpen has been bad this year, no doubt, but that number is an offensive stat, too. It shows how many times we've failed to come up with a big hit and put a game away late.
  4. Playoffs??? If by some miracle this team made the playoffs, you better carry a 15 man pitching staff because you'll need about 20 innings in close late games before the offense will finally come through with a big hit.
  5. I totally forgot about the Thames bombs. Absolutely. Regardless, I'm disgusted. 3-10 record in extra inning games this year. No wins when trailing after 8. Those things don't happen by pure dumb luck. Those things happen when you have a team full of guys who can't mentally handle the moment.
  6. Dress it up all you want about a great battle, all it was was a complete choke job. As always. What do we have, one vintage late inning moment for this offense this entire season? The bomb by Pina against the Mets? That's literally the only one I can think of.
  7. I would guess so. He'll walk off the field after he strikes out to end the game. There it is.
  8. I would guess so. He'll walk off the field after he strikes out to end the game.
  9. Broxton put a Brinson jersey on? Looks like the exact same guy to me, hole in his bat and can't touch wildly hittable pitches.
  10. Either we go down harmlessly 1-2-3, or we load the bases with nobody out and find a way not to score.
  11. Why? He got us out of trouble in the 10th and didn't even throw a pitch to Heyward. Don't blame him, blame an offense that refuses time and time again to come up with a big hit. They were bound to run into one at some point tonight the longer things kept going.
  12. And there's your ballgame. Offense can come back and watch the tape of all these horrible ABs to answer the question of why they couldn't stay in the pennant race. This team's despicable record in extra inning games and lack of a single win when trailing after 8 tells you exactly how well this lineup comes through in big moments.
  13. Dear God what I would give for a Brewer walkoff win here...
  14. A bit harsh, it is a game of failure. And fail he does to take a pitch in a key moment, time and time again. I just asked for him to ride the pine tomorrow, not be DFAed. Don't see anything wrong with a consequence.
  15. Pretty sure we have scored 8 in a game like, twice in the last month.
  16. Unless Perez ends up with a walkoff later I don't want to see him anywhere near the lineup tomorrow. What an absolute embarrassment on 3-1. It's literally probably your biggest moment of the season and literally all you have to do is not try to do too much and your team has the bases loaded and 1 out in a tie game. So what do you do, you try to be a hero and completely screw over your team in the process.
  17. Strop looks like a total bag in his MLB profile picture.
  18. Good work Shaw...can Perez come up with the 'moment' that this offense desperately needs?
  19. Gameday definitely had the first pitch off the plate. Shows 3-1 as a perfect pitch right on the inside corner in the lower part of the zone.
  20. We have a man on base, again. Is it too much to ask that we capitalize?
  21. Kind of a crucial inning here. Meat of the order coming up, if we don't scratch something across here, I don't expect things to end our way today...
  22. Yeah, Rosenthal said the Brewers are basically out on Gray. Says it's basically the Yankees with the Dodgers the only real other contender.
