  1. Why is it that we continue to trust Torres but treat Hader with little kid gloves? Isn't the whole reason that Hader is here is to give us a better option out of the pen?
  2. Not surprised, its Molina. He has the whole Sammy Sosa 'I'm going to make people think I'm a real class act but I'm really not' thing going on.
  3. Someone said last August that we should try to sneak Garza through waivers quickly so we could trade him. If anyone claimed Matt Garza on waivers, Stearns would sob tears of joy and let them be on the hook for him.
  4. Just in case the first few starts fooled anyone, Garza still sucks.
  5. He won't be claimed. 3M+ is too much for how bad he's been. He'll get released and we'll get a few hundred in relief from the pro-rated minimum. This frees up a spot on the 40 too...wonder who that will end up going to...Wang?
  6. Espino back up for Woodruff has me a bit stumped. Like you said all reports are that Garza is good to return tomorrow. Only reason there would be any need for Espino to be up is if that has changed or if they plan to try him out of the pen.
  7. At least Woodruff's debut wasn't wasted on a game where we didn't score.
  8. Keon is back up to a .745 OPS and quietly on pace for a 20 HR season. I know his inconsistency is aggravating but his skillset for a CF is too good to simply give up on. Either you live with his highs and lows or look to hopefully trade him at a high point.
  9. I was all for the Peralta pen experiment but it's come time to say he's the bust that he is. It's too bad that he could never harness that stuff and turn it into something useful.
  10. I know not every prospect is going to go all Cody Bellinger from the get-go but it would sure be nice to see Brinson do something worth getting excited about .
  11. I thought Brinson was supposed to be this awesome defender. Obviously ridiculously small sample but that wasn't particularly impressive. Broxton probably catches that and keep it at 1-0.
  12. Why is Nick Franklin still on this team again? He can't play left, where he gets most of his starts, and he surely isn't here for his bat.
  13. Solo HRs shouldn't hurt too much, but they do when your offense is worthless at converting key situations.
  14. 8 up 8 down and then walk the pitcher. That is so us. Although a few of those pitches looked better than the ones called strikes to Thames.
  15. Strike 2 to Thames was a joke. It's sad when you have to call for machines on a daily basis but that's where we're at.
  16. There isn't a single player in this lineup who is hot right now. Bandy, Thames, Sogard all ice, ice cold. Edit: Forgot Arcia is in the lineup. So one.
  17. Thames seems likeable enough for me, it's just hard to believe that a guy who looked like the best player in baseball in April can look so hopelessly lost now .
  18. Right hamstring tightness, what a huge disappointment. Suter it is, hopefully we can get 3-4 out of him.
  19. Woodruff left the field and went back to the clubhouse during warmups. Unreal how the Brewer luck works
  20. That was me and I am starting to figure out Stearns reasoning. Since Peralta isn't a Stearns guy, I could see him being gone sooner than later this year unless he has a miracle turnaround. Milone, Marinez and Scahill were 'Stearns guys' just as much as Feliz, Torres, Hughes and Drake are, so I don't think there's anything to this theory.
  21. Yeah, I don't think Woodruff is going to the pen. If he has a great debut he'll be tough to send back down right now though. It'd be a good time to try to trade Garza while he still has some of his early season value, but coming off an injury isn't usually the best time for that. It's hard to see anyone else in the rotation getting traded now, but you never know.
  22. Yeah, I agree. I mean, you have Phillips. Let him play. Phillips was sent back down for Shaw.
