  1. Junior is just all over the place. Needs to start finding the plate or this could get ugly in a hurry.
  2. Walk an .083 hitting pitcher to lead off an inning. Fantastic work there Junior.
  3. Doesn't sound like he's even made it to the park yet so being in the lineup wasn't possible. Could get here for a late PH though...
  4. Good outing for Lopez, nice to see, he's been long overdue for one. I had no idea Manny Parra was still hanging around and pitching for the Iowa Cubs.
  5. I don't think the reason Braun is still here is from a lack of willingness to trade him or lack of confidence in our OF prospects .
  6. Neither is on the 40, so you still have to DFA someone to make room unless Villar's injury is serious enough to put him on the 60 day. They have plenty of guys who can play 2nd. If it isn't a long term stay my guess is that it just buys Phillips more time.
  7. As long as Knebel can give us an inning or two every game the rest of the season we should be fine.
  8. No details of what's wrong. He can be gone 3-7 days. http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/235444308/brewers-travis-shaw-on-medical-leave/ That's heartbreaking. Praying Baby Girl Shaw is okay.
  9. Those who want Keon benched based on his strikeouts are not going to like Phillips much better.
  10. I keep seeing this in various threads. They are developing these guys to be starting pitchers, they are not going to be added to the Brewers pen. Ditto for Ortiz. Not to mention Williams is coming back from TJ, and likely will be shut down at some point this year. Once the minor league seasons are over, maybe one of those guys can be called up to the pen in September, but that's it. Hader is up and Crow has been served. Hey, he already said he was wrong.
  11. The timing of this is really worrying. They just had a new baby, and a lot can go wrong for the mother and baby. I really hope I'm wrong about this. Me too. Hope there is nothing to this.
  12. Honestly I think the Cubs probably still run away with this division in the end. That hurts to say but they have underachieved pretty badly and still probably have a 87 win floor, and I just don't think we're there yet. As fun as this has been, first place on June 9th doesn't mean much. Hope to be wrong. Looking where the rest of the division is at I do think 2nd place may be realistic which is a lot better than I could have hoped for coming into this season.
  13. And I think they are still trying to determine that. If they were sure he is a placeholder they would have called up a Sky Sox OFer to replace him by now as there would be no reason not to at this point.
  14. You say the Santana strikeout as an aside like it wasn't a really big deal in that inning, especially when he swung at Ball 4. Gotta try to get one in the air. Or if you're not confident, try a squeeze or something different. This happens way too often to this team to attribute it to just darn old rotten luck.
  15. I can never decide whether I love this team or hate this team more.
  16. Put the winning run at 3rd with nobody out and don't get him in, you deserve to lose. What an absolute buzz kill game. Go from looking like a sure loss, to a sure win, and back to a sure loss again.
  17. I know the shift made that a tough ball for Arcia especially going the wrong way, but he needs to at least get a glove on it and keep it in the infield.
  18. And we're going to still lose anyway after all that. Just classic Brewers. Ugh.
  19. Put together an amazing 9th inning rally to tie it up only to get the winning run on 3rd with nobody out and leave him stranded there. Only the Brewers.
  20. I remember Prince's 2nd inside the park HR was a ball just like that, the fielder just threw his hands up and Prince circled the bases and was given a HR. So what's the difference here?
  21. I totally agree with you. Franklin is way overdue for a DFA.
  22. Yeah, Counsell is defeating the entire purpose of moving Peralta to the pen. You wanted to see if he could have success in short stints when he can just fire away and not have to save anything and be used in key situations. It's a process and you're not going to learn anything by forcing him to go eat up multiple innings. Just stop it already. He's been relatively successful in his first inning of work and should absolutely not be used a second inning in any close game until he is well established as a reliever and what he can do in that role.
