  1. I don't know if I would call it embarrassing, but it's pretty over the top. Scooter understands, we're nice courteous fans that appreciate his contributions here. Now he's a Red and we gave him an ovation, let's move on. The guy wasn't even very good. Sheesh, I don't know if he got applauded every AB so much when he was an actual Brewer.
  2. Yeah I have to agree. Ok Scooter was a nice little mediocre player here for a few years. Give him a little courtesy applause his first AB back in MP and move on, quit acting like it's the return of Paul Molitor every time he comes up to bat.
  3. Peralta's season ERA now north of 5, going to climb higher if Torres lets anyone score.
  4. Hard to come up with one Stearns trade that hasn't made him look good. I guess Khris Davis but even that one isn't really that big of a deal. The Adam Lind deal was a bit surprising, but we wont be able to grade that one for at least a couple more years. Yeah, it kind of was at the time, but they got Freddy Peralta out of that deal who is a pretty decent pitching prospect. I haven't honestly followed Lind too closely since we dealt him but I don't think he's done anything to make us miss him much since then.
  5. Never said it hasn't been good or that he hasn't been good. Simply said that's a play he should have made which was obviously true.

  7. Wow, Shaw needs to make that play. Should have been 2 out and it's none. That's how you end up letting the other team back in it.
  8. No but chipping away at the score each inning might. Which is why the 'unwritten rules' on team behavior with a big lead are such a joke. Rock alluded to this yesterday, it's not uncommon for teams to get offended if the opposition steals or bunts with a big lead. Some teams have better pens than others. No game is over in baseball til the last out. You're still trying to win and they're still trying to come back. I can't remember who it was, I'm almost positive a Cardinal, that got mad a few years ago because the opposing pitcher threw a curve or change with a big lead instead of just straight fastballs. Its such a joke.
  9. Pen is ranked 12th in MLB for what it's worth. Rotation is 23rd which is better than I expected.
  10. Imagine how good this team could be if only our starting pitching didn't totally suck.
  11. Yep, every team has that one nemesis they just can't beat. Just wish ours wasn't the Cardinals.
  12. I like how Sedar did not appear to tell Thames one way or another whether to run home or stay put, just kind of stood there. "Maybe I should start just staying out of it and let them decide. "
  13. This kid is basically throwing batting practice. He's lucky his 2-0 pitch to Braun didn't wind up off the scoreboard in center.
  14. Helps we're playing guys who just got out of AAA - or need to retire. But I'll take it. Hey, usually those 'Just got out of AAA' guys give us fits.
  15. I love this offense. Also, great baserunning by Shaw this inning. Tagged from first to second on the deep drive and then caught the pitcher napping and strolled into 3rd, now the Reds forced to bring the IF in. Then Bandy singles which probably would have been a line drive right at the SS if the IF was at normal depth.
  16. Got the game, and they're using the Brewer radio feed for audio. Sweet!
  17. Yeah Aguilar started out the year looking like we can't keep him out of the lineup, now he's down near a .600 OPS and I don't think has had a hit in weeks. Perez starred out looking like a bust one year fluke and his OPS climbs into elite range almost overnight. Shows how quickly things can change. Villar and Broxton are getting there. Slowly but they're climbing. In Broxton's case even if he can just climb another 100 points to about. 700, that has value for an elite CF glove. Santana seems to be going the other way right now.
  18. I never have a problem watching it on MLB Network and I live in Central Wisconsin. Don't see why it would be blacked out when it's not available on FSN. But MLB has some of the most convoluted and arbitrary blackout rules in sports so who knows.
  19. That'll go out the window pretty quick here. Seriously, Thames doesn't really seem like a 'cult' guy like Branyan of the Brewers or Kuhn of the Packers, to me. He has fans because he's been really awesome and will probably continue to as long as he stays really good. So really I wouldn't place him on a list like that at all, but that's just my opinion. He'll be loved more of the way in which fans loved(d) Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder if he keeps it up.
