  1. Well, we scored, which would seem a lot more important if we hadn't walked the pitcher to give up a GS to Soriano last inning.
  2. Honestly that grand slam serves this team right. Hate to say that, but it really does. This has gotten ridiculous. Yost needs to unleash a Leyland type tirade on these guys. But he won't. He'll say, "We're just having a tough time right now. But we'll turn it around. We're battlers."
  3. Well, not so good of a day for JDLR now.
  4. Just once, I want to see a catcher call for a IBB against someone, then fire one on the outside corner. Get a head start. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Think that'd be bad baseball etiquette? Let's not walk the pitcher to get to Soriano 2 days in a row. That was an interesting strategy yesterday, I'm not really keen on trying again.
  5. Well, things will start looking up after today, now that we've gotten the tough part of our schedule over with. Oh, wait....
  6. Come on, Brady. Basehit scores 1...
  7. Keep him in (unless his spot comes up this inning with a scoring situation). Pray the floodgates don't open in the 6th. Barring an offense sighting, it may not make a difference.
  8. Hart started yesterday, and played over half the game. He clearly needed a day off today.
  9. Yeah, watch Jenkins hit 10 for his next 20 after the collision.
  10. It should still be 1-0, but that was an incredible stroke of luck. Actually, Jorge is pretty lucky it isn't 3-0. That was an awfully high 3-0 strike to Soriano. Certainly not a pitch that would be called a strike on 0-2. Wonder if it was a makeup for that called 3rd strike on Jenks? Won't matter if we can't start hitting, though.
  11. E-1....ho-hum...just an average day at the ballpark for this club....http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif 0 runs, 0 hits, 2 errors so far At some point, you start to wonder how we managed to stay around .500 until the end of May.
  12. Why do I continue to watch the games....
  13. Oh crap...two quick walks...don't tell me the wheels are going to fall off here in the 4th, JDLR...please...
  14. This isn't really the point, but Lee isn't older than Jenkins -- he's two years younger.
  15. Well, Armas will take a perfect game into the bottom of the 4th, I guess that'd be the tip of the iceberg for this streak if that held up the whole game.
  16. Not this year. Up until this year, yeah.
  17. Their career BA's are very similar, but Jenkins has struck out a LOT more, and Carlos has more HR's and RBI's. Carlos is clearly superior.
  18. Nothing would shock me at this point. JDLR could go the distance and give up 1 run and we could lose 1-0. We could get him an 8-2 lead and have the bullpen end up blowing it. Or JDLR could give up 5 in the 3rd. So many things have fallen apart in the last week, it's just tough to predict. The only certainty is that if we lose, Yost will calmly declare that we are just having a bad 8 days but will keep on battling.
  19. Actually, 2 out of these last 7 games have been on Turnbow. That's why they call him a CLOSER -- his job is to CLOSE out games. If he did that in the 2 said games, we're a .500 club right now instead of 4 under. No, I don't expect him not to ever give up a hit or a walk, but I do expect him not to allow 2 runs to lose the game in 1 inning every time he pitches, like he has done his last 2 outings. That's not what we pay him for -- we have other guys who can do that. They're down at AA and AAA. I hope Turnbow can figure it out. I think he has the stuff and I think he's just hit a rut. I also feel it was shameful for Yost to replace him with Shouse -- not saying there is a connection, but it doesn't seem that he has been the same since. Never forget how much of the game is mental...
  20. Eh, a late 2 run rally was obtainable by the Milwaukee Brewers team of one week ago. With this team, I felt encouraged by only losing by 1 run to the Pirates. That's not good.
  21. We've now allowed double digit runs in 3 of our last 5 games. To the Pirates and Nationals. Over the last 6 games we've been outscored 52-14. So we're not just losing, we're getting our butts handed to us on most nights. It's like ever since the finale against Philly, our ability in every facet of the game -- pitching, hitting, and defense, has just plummetted. Melvin needs to make a move to try and right the ship -- or it's just not going to be righted this year.
  22. Well, barring a rally in their last 9 outs, 6 straight losses for the Crew. Six. Guys, I'm not going to sugarcoat, things don't look good. Our bats have come back down to earth. Our starting pitching sucks. Our bullpen is as bad or worse. Right now, I can't think of any good reason for optimism. If you can, please let me know because I sure would like a reason to feel good about this team right now.
  23. I'd propose from now on, just offering Gross a three-week contract at the beginning of every April.
  24. Also I am really aggravated not to see Rickie Weeks in the lineup when he's been as hot as he is.
