We have at least 3 guys in our pen -- Demaria, Lehr, and Fernandez, that have no business being on a major league ballclub. Bullpen needs must be addressed fast. It's getting out of hand. Pretty sad when you miss Tommy Phelps.
I love that Rickie can turn a single into a double, so to speak, with his speed. He's almost automatic stealing 2nd. Too bad we couldn't drive him in. This is going to be one tough loss to take if we don't come back. Meat of the order coming up next inning, have to get it done then.
I am thinking that stranding Lee at 2nd last inning is going to come back to hurt us and we lose 6-5...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Hope I am wrong....!
Normally JDLR will follow up a horrible relief stint with a pretty decent one and alternate back. It's his way of making sure the coaching staff maintains at least a little faith in him. Unfortunately, he pitched pretty well last time he pitched.
This inning really has been a killer. Kind of a shame for Dana because he really didn't pitch that horribly today. Poor control and 1 mistake pitch to Beltran is what costed him. But there's no excuse for not putting up better offensive production...hopefully we will see it.
I despise Carlos Beltran.... And I despise walks...but giving up one to the pitcher (and having him eventually score) makes it much worse. We need to start hitting Gonzalez. No reason whatsoever that this guy should be putting the clamps on our bats like he is.
Back under .500 after today. Ben H should have been pulled for the PH'er, it was our only real shot at getting back in this game, but nope, we passed on it just to have him come out here and continue to do this. 1-5 road trip is beyond unacceptable. We were lucky just to win that one. I'm very disappointed in this team right now and where I thought we would be headed this season versus where we look to actually be headed.
Nothing like stranding 2nd and 3rd with nobody out when you're desperately trying to get back in the game. Same old RISP crap. Mind-boggling aggravating. You'd think giving up 5 runs in the 1st, at least we could get a break with 2 guys in scoring position and nobody out. But nope, that's not how we roll.
Ballgame. 4th time shut out. This team, and offense, is baffling. Guys, we have too many pitching problems right now to be able to hold the other team to 3 runs every night. If you fail to take advantage when we do, it's going to be a long season.
