  1. Because they play scared in the postseason. It's like their first time every single time they make it.
  2. Absolutely wild to me that this guy starts over Tobias.
  3. Desperately needed that. Good work Jackson.
  4. At least they got that one. Could have been worse.
  5. A 4.55 ERA with so-so peripherals? No, he hasn't been our best pitcher. Not close.
  6. Montas is arguably the worst option in the rotation to start a Game 2. We'll see how it goes.
  7. If they win, best to stay under there as long as the team is still alive. We will bring you meals and a chamber pot.
  8. I've learned over the years to be a fan of the Brewers, you really have to enjoy the journey and not worry too much about the destination. That used to be fine, but after so much of it, it's really becoming more of a struggle for me. I really hope they can win today.
  9. I really hope we win tomorrow. Nothing about how we have responded to playoff pressure or elimination games indicates to me that tomorrow is going to be any different and that our season won't be over in 24 hours. I certainly hope to be wrong. It's really disappointing to just be hoping to win a singular playoff game because you can't remember the last time that actually happened.
  10. You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. They completely folded up shop after the Mets 5th which in turn made the rest of the series harder on them by not putting any pressure on the Mets' pen. Would be different if they had battled back, made the Mets work and lost 8-6 after a good rally, but that's the opposite of what happened.
  11. Well, they'll be fighting for their life tomorrow, so they better bring a lot more than they brought today.
  12. I mean we cannot outspend any of our playoff competition to assemble a 26 man roster, so if we are only expecting to advance if we can match up talent wise in any playoff series, we had better keep our hopes and aspirations low. I have major, major beef with the level of player that Pat Murphy apparently believes Jake Bauers is when he assembles his lineups, but other than that, this was as winnable of a playoff matchup as we could have asked for. Until MLB starts going March Madness playoff style and seeding the whole league #1-#30, we are going to need to beat a good team to advance one of these times.
  13. The cutesy catch phrases are fine when you have at least some degree of average postseason play to fall back on. When you've dropped almost all of your last dozen postseason games, it really gets eye rolling. At that point it's like, shut up and just win a game.
  14. Hopefully it's made of something different than what we were made out of the last 5 innings today, or they can start making golf reservations tonight.
  15. If we were to go to the World Series and lose I would most certainly not be disappointed in the season. Oh sure, in the moment I'd be sad and bummed that they lost, but I'd be very pleased with the team and excited for the future. And excited to have shown actual progress. This team has been here way too much to continue acting like the lights are just too damn bright for them every time they get here.
  16. Because it's extraordinarly important that Adames be followed in the lineup by a left handed batter, so Jake Bauers absolutely must start and bat there, I'm told.
  17. Throw that "undaunted" garbage out the window until they actually accomplish something to earn that kind of swagger. It's embarrassing when you come into a game with that kind of a motto and go out whimpering after a rally as bad as they did in the last 5 innings.
  18. Once again, never said he was blameless. They were still winning and he was throwing well when he exited the game.
  19. Nope, just David Stearns' new team.
  20. Freddy Peralta is not blameless but he is not near the top of the reasons that we lost today.
  21. I'm more disappointed with the way the Brewers responded to the 5th inning than the 5th inning itself. It's hard to say that they don't deserve to be booed right now.
  22. Completely lifeless after the Mets' rally. Not really fitting the "they never quit" bill.
  23. 1 for 4 with a single, 2 Ks and a pop out is a pretty solid day by Bauers' standards.
  24. Not only did the Mets completely blow the game open in the 5th, but now the lineup has completely turtled, which will allow the Mets to rest their better relievers and put no pressure on their pen. The whole "undaunted" thing sure aged poorly.
