  1. My point wasn’t to say that we should have. My point was that it’s a little hypocritical to only boo Adames over his departure, like he was the only one with any influence over the process.
  2. I actually don’t boo or begrudge Counsell either, although I might be in the minority on that one. For us this is entertainment. For these guys, it is their livelihoods and careers. I am not really going to hold it against anyone who wants to make personal choices about their life and career, where they live and how much they make. I hope they will embrace Milwaukee while they are here, and I hope Milwaukee will embrace them. Aside from that, as long as they aren’t being an ungracious jerk who badmouths the city/fans after the fact (see Winker, Jesse), I will wish them the best. Want to be here? Awesome! Want to work somewhere else? Don’t want to spend your entire career and/or life in Milwaukee? Okay. Who am I to say that you should?
  3. Mark Attanasio could absolutely have afforded to give Willy Adames a 7 year, 182 million dollar contract, if he wants to. He absolutely has the means for doing so.
  4. Following your own agenda is literally the opposite of the purpose of being in a union. The whole strength of a union comes from every member collectively working together for their goals. Members going rogue for their own purposes is what eventually breaks a union. It’s not about Adames, it’s about the guys that follow him. Also, just curious if the booing is just reserved for Adames or if you are saving any for the owner with a net worth of 1.9 billion dollars who didn’t want to pay him market value, since I didn’t read any reports of the Brewers offering him a 7 year, $182 million dollar contract.
  5. Of all the reasons we are struggling this year, Freddy Peralta’s name is nowhere on the list.
  6. Well, Adames was still a pretty big loss, for what we have at SS now, and Yelich is now completely washed.
  7. I'm fine with firing the hitting coaches. Murphy isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, obviously. I don’t really care for the two hitting coach concept. Too many voices in the ear — more is not always better when it comes to coaching and quantity is not going to substitute for quality. But the main problem is that Arnold didn’t do a good job assembling this roster. This lineup can’t hit its way out of a wet paper bag. So while I’m good with a new direction to help guys like Chourio get through these stretches and improve, it isn’t going to fix the offense.
  8. I don’t really care about firing the hitting coaches. We’ve cycled through so many hitting coaches over the years and nothing really changes. Put a talented roster together with talented hitters and stop relying on coaching and defense and luck getting you to 90 wins every year.
  9. Not enjoyable for them I’m sure, but I’d gladly take it 10 times as a Brewer fan for the trophy they won last year.
  10. There are some Brewer lineups from the early 2000s that could easily outhit this one.
  11. Murph, Yeli is washed. I realize he’s still going to play because this bench isn’t exactly flush with options but he’s not a top of the lineup guy anymore.
  12. More of an NBA general related comment here, but the East, which looked like you could go ahead and pencil in Celtics vs Cavs for the Finals, is one game in each series away from being Knicks/Pacers.
  13. Depends what you mean by solid prospect, I guess. Organizational top 30 lottery ticket? Sure, if you eat some salary. MLB top 100? Not even close.
  14. I agree with you that the best 2 out of 3 series system sucks. However, we were not having much postseason success under the old system, either.
  15. Sure, you can trade him but especially as a rental with a not that low price tag, he’s not really netting much of anything. It’s a salary dump.
  16. Meh. Helps when 2nd place in your division is an 83 win team. Not going to get that luxury anytime soon. If division championships are the apex of what we can expect as Brewer fans, then we have accomplished our goals, I guess.
  17. You can only assemble an 80 win roster for so many seasons before you get an actual 80 win team.
  18. But why? MLB only records standings in “wins” and “losses”. There are no bonuses for series wins.
  19. It’s really weird to put out a Sunday lineup before a day off.
  20. We don’t have a lot of bad pitchers on this team, but the ones that are bad are really, really bad.
  21. Having Capra bat before you pretty much ensures coming up with the bases empty.
