  1. Fair enough, but the unfortunate truth is you never know how long that turnaround will take. Cub fans and Red Sox fans that were experiencing it 80 years ago, for example, never got to see it in their lifetimes. I remember being 28 and watching the Packers win the Super Bowl and telling my buddy to savor it because we didn't know how long it would take to see it again, if ever. Now I'm 42 and still haven't. In the case of the Brewers, none of us have seen it in our lifetimes.
  2. I see it as something that is justified for things that relate to poor hustle and poor effort. Not so much for physical mistakes that happened in an earnest effort to do their job.
  3. Unfortunately you'd have far more money if you had bet on them going quietly in their first playoff series every year since 2018.
  4. Mears actually made the playoff roster? Barring a big rally, may as well let him eat as much of the rest of this as possible.
  5. They didn't even need everything to go right to win this game. They just needed to not screw up a whole bunch of things.
  6. Adames/Bauers/Hoskins respond to the Mets rally with 2 pop outs and a K.
  7. Let's be honest, we'd be doing this exact same thing regardless of who the opponent was. Severino has been more than hittable, we've had numerous opportunities to take over the game and we shot ourselves in the foot. Again. And again. And again. Has nothing to do with the Mets. They're nothing special. It's us.
  8. Lol this team. You had the perfect opponent, completely gassed, and you found a way to screw it up again. Unreal.
  9. We used to have a thread around here called "Why can't Wisconsin sports fans have nice things?" as a discussion thread for the tendencies for all Wisconsin sports teams to choke when it matters, til the Bucks broke the streak in 2021, but since then it looks like we're back in business.
  10. Same old Brewers. Great regular season team, put them under the bright lights of the postseason and they'll find some way to screw it up.
  11. I think it's the game script they intended. They were never going to try to work him deep. They're just trying to win 2 baseball games whatever it takes.
  12. I think being a playoff game, frustrated with early exits and really wanting to see us go deeper this time, emotions are running higher than usual.
  13. Freddy has actually been quite good today. Unfortunately the 2 or 3 bad things he did, he did all at once.
  14. I will gladly accept the RBI groundout there.
  15. I would have taken Hoskins getting drilled by a pitch again.
  16. They should have 4-5 runs on Severino. He is very hittable today. If they don't find a way to win this one it will be incredibly discouraging.
  17. Would have given us more of a shot than that did.
  18. You're right, it's not rocket science. A hitter like Bauers shouldn't be hitting in the 6 spot of a playoff game, plain and simple. He's DH'ing, so literally any of Perkins, Sanchez, or Haase would have been better. You don't have to go R/L all the way down the lineup.
  19. Well first, working a full count and striking out on very good pitch is a far, far better AB than popping out the very first pitch to the catcher. Secondly, Garrett Mitchell was a good hitter this year, has upside, and his presence in a run-producing spot in the lineup is understandable, unlike Jake Bauers, who has been a bad hitter not only this year but his entire career.
  20. Sure would've loved to have more runs in the 1st now instead of Bauers popping up the first pitch with the bases loaded.
  21. The crazy thing is we actually gave up value.
  22. Having Jake Bauers not only start, but hit in a run-producing spot in the lineup in a playoff game, is beyond criminal. Have we not seen enough of him throughout the entire regular season to know he's not good? What are you thinking, Murph? It's good we got 2 I guess, but we could have broken it open.
