    The timeout is fine if you’re going to call a different defensive play on 4th down. There was 5 seconds left. Blitz and take down Hurts in 4 seconds and you can get the ball back and kick a FG or at least attempt one. Instead they played prevent which was pointless.

    I don’t mind the swings that make sense. The Banks and Hobbs signings both looked like baffling overpays at the time they happened and they look worse in hindsight.

    I expected that, but I actually think this is the best we’ve looked in the two minute drive all year. They were actually getting up to the line quickly and not burning a ton of time.

    And this is what I don’t understand about our usual approach. Why not change it up and run a quick tempo offense when your traditional offense isn’t working?

    Gute is responsible for the contracts of Aaron Banks and Nate Hobbs which look like the two worst free agent signings in the NFL last year.

    Probably not, but there’s no telling how much closer he would have gotten to it if he hadn’t gotten hooked and slowed up. As they explained on the broadcast, they’ll err on the catchable side. It doesn’t look catchable to us, but we don’t know how much the contact made the pass look uncatchable.

    When the Brewers lose games I always still at least feel like the organization is in good hands. I don’t think Gute is a great GM. I don’t think the Packers are well coached. There’s nothing about the Packers that makes me think they’re particularly well-run unless you’re content with usually making the playoffs in a field that is almost the same size as the NBA field by now.
