  1. If we could just win it now and not screw around with extra innings that would be awesome.
  2. MLB umpires are so bad at their job.
  3. Not really. Megill to my recollection isn't really a multi-inning guy at all.
  4. Just like every other Philly opponent lately.
  5. And yet still longer than it took the Royals to give up on him, in terms of plate appearances. Again, he's a journeyman minor leaguer. They're just seeing if they can catch lighting in a bottle. He's not going to get 50 plate appearances to settle in.
  6. Something tells me one of the top 2 prospects in baseball is going to get a little more leeway to show it than a 28 year old journeyman minor leaguer.
  7. I feel bad, because he's someone you'd like to root for, and it'd be nice to at least see him get his first MLB hit, but yeah. I think he's likely to get DFAed before he even does that.
  8. You can't keep putting Hicklen in the lineup. He is completely overmatched by MLB pitching.
  9. Fernandez had time to bobble twice, take a smoke break, and still make the throw to 1st before Sanchez was going to get there.
  10. Hoskins couldn't even scoop ice cream.
  11. The Brewer Hicklen story was fun for like 10 minutes yesterday, but there's a good chance the guy just can't play at this level.
  12. Come on, guys. Matz is junk at this point in his career.
  13. That wasn't a strike for Civale.
  14. I'm a bit concerned about our entire rotation from top to bottom right now. I think they're all showing some signs of season fatigue. The division lead is so big it would be nice if we could just put it on cruise control this month and rest some guys, but we're trying to catch the Phillies. We don't have one starter that I feel great about in a playoff series. We'll lean heavily on our pen for sure.
  15. Father Time has caught up to Goldschmidt this year, but you wouldn't know it tonight.
  16. That one I also think stayed fair.
  17. I get the business side of it and big picture view, but to tell a guy like Bryan Hudson who has been phenomenal all year, that he's getting demoted, which is going to cost him service time, money, etc...and clearly isn't a deserved demotion ...I don't totally know how he's going to respond to that. We forget the human side of it sometimes.
  18. Call it the same both ways, ump.
  19. These seem like the sort of "bad karma" moves that a team makes and then goes 10-15 after.
  20. If you're going to take a whack at the first pitch, don't pop it straight up.
  21. Didn't look good on it. I was also shocked that Chourio didn't get to Donavon's double. Felt like it was up in the air forever.
