Lawrie could go as high as #7 to the Reds. I was asking about them in regards to OTHER teams taking them; I know that there's no info coming out of the Brewers' camp.
What's hilarious(ly awesome) to me is that Gamel's ISO is approaching .300, and he's not even leading the team. A list of ISO's at Huntsville: LaPorta - .307 (age 23) Gamel - .287 (22) Braun - .286 (22) Errecart - .247 (23) Gillespie - .232 (24) Katin - .213 (24) Salome - .209 (22) Fielder - .201 (20) Nelson - .180 (21) Hart - .165 (21) Hardy - .149 (20) Weeks - .148 (21) Fielder's is still pretty impressive, due to his age.
Team splits would normally be available, but Jeff is working on some site upgrades, so they're not up right now. 2006-07 splits are currently unavailable as well.
I think that something interesting to take into consideration is what to do with Lorenzo Cain. In my opinion, he deserves a shot at AA to see what he can do, but Gillespie and LaPorta are firmly entrenched as the incumbents. I suppose it depends on the organizational philosophy; if they really do consider AAA a dumping ground for mediocre veteran talent, then maybe they want to bump up the lesser of the two prospects (Gillespie) and keep LaPorta stable and working on his defense in a productive, positive environment. If they really do see AAA as a step up, then obviously you bump up LaPorta. But Cain needs a promotion.
Jeffress will make the top 100 barring meltdown, Braddock has a chance to, but Donovan Hand? Hand is a fun guy to cheer for, but he would have to throw four perfect games and have an ERA under 1 to make top 100 lists. [EDIT] Nevermind, you figured the same and edited him out http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
The fact that Cain actually possesses a smattering of power. Brantley is simply not going to be able to walk much in the Major Leagues without any power. Is he young enough to develop power? Absolutely. Is his plate discipline good? Of course. But just because he walks a bunch and never strikes out doesn't mean much absent any power.
Flanagan said he shows signs of having a good slider though, so it's not like he's going on nothing. The rest of this year at AA will tell a lot about his future.
