  1. A very evenly matched contest. No shame in losing this one. I didn't come away with the same feeling as I did the Clarkson game years ago. I think it's safe to say Ohio State has completed its ascension to the top and is the team everyone now is shooting for. Interesting to see how Mark Johnson responds (or retires).
  2. The "second" round had four 5/12 games and four 6/11 games. Final result for those who take a financial interest: lower seed 6-2 ATS, 5-3 SU. That's a 71% ROI. Or maybe this belongs in The Investment Thread?
  3. True. I saw a video earlier this week that had Kentucky's buzzer beater against Wisconsin in 2014. I had completely forgotten...due to 2015.
  4. I just see this as one coach being outcoach by the opposing coach. The team came out looking unprepared. Two weeks ago, who woulda thunk the Badger women would still be playing after the Badger men were done?
  5. Agreed to all above. To have a play-in game(s) for the 12-seed or whatever just doesn't make sense to me. I don't think it was always like that.
  6. Watching the high school tournament last weekend, it finally hits me. Watching 26 treys in the D5 championship game. The conversation turned to how (high school) FT% is down across the country. The thought being the players practice to hit the threes and not the 15-footers. Being 58, not sure if the evolution of the game is necessarily going in the direction I enjoy.
  7. I was at that game, but left after the eighth. It was freaking cold. Jim Slaton blew a two-run lead during the top of the ninth. Like yourself, listened to the end on the radio.

    Pizza

Agreed. When I was a kid, Bucks on CG was our Saturday night tradition. This was 1971. However, when I'm in Madison, I get Pizza Pit. I don't eat in Madison often enough to patronize two places.
  9. Tim Lewis Eddie Lee Ivory
  10. ST games have begun, so time to catch up. OFF: P Clayton Andrews, traded OF Jahmai Jones, waived P Brandon Woodruff, 60-day IL ON: P Jakob Junis, signed C Gary Sanchez, signed The 40-man roster is full.
  11. Somewhat off-topic, I watched the first ten minutes of the girls title game out of curiosity, then went about my Saturday. I check the box score to find multiple misconducts and disqualifications at the end. Anyone have inside scoop? A big catfight break out? https://www.wiaawi.org/Portals/0/PDF/Results/Hockey_Girls/2024/game3.htm
  12. Caught periods 2 and 3. Nice comeback, very entertaining.
  13. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/college/uw/2024/02/19/former-wisconsin-basketball-player-larry-petty-died-in-late-january/72656012007/ OK, not related to this season, but I saw Larry Petty's obit in Sunday's Wisconsin State Journal. I believe he would have been one of Bo Ryan's first recruits to UW(?) #00 Larry Petty, along with Wes Matthews, Clyde Gains, Gregory Bros were fun to watch as a kid. Maybe could have done better under a different coach? ESPN's first college game was Wisconsin v DePaul and Petty would have been a part of that.
  14. Do I dare say "Sex Education"?
  15. OFF: P Ethan Small, DFA P Corbin Burnes, traded ON: SS Joey Ortiz, acquired P DL Hall, acquired The 40-man roster is full.
  16. Either this thread or another, I mentioned my brother lives in Jacksonville. Talking to him yesterday, he mentioned Jacksonville will be renovating the stadium this fall and may not be able to host games. I asked if the Jags would play in Orlando. He said they were thinking of playing at "The Swamp". So a head's up to you traveling Packer Nation.
  17. I prefer the CFL rule. Last team to touch in bounds gets possession.
  18. Better than 2010? :) Yeah, I'm thinking this may have been Detroit's one opportunity this generation (or next). I don't think many Lions fans slept well last night. They had the game in hand at halftime. Like the Packers against Seattle. Different note, the sport that coaches are most risk adverse is football. Like Gregg Olson said, the high risk/reward is what got Detroit to this point, cannot criticize it now.
  19. ON: P Bryan Hudson, acquired 1B Rhys Hoskins, signed The 40-man roster is full.
  20. The Fail Mary game doesn't bother me because that was such a horribly played game by both teams, neither deserved to win. Remember, the score at half was 3-0. The 2014 game, it is what it is. I don't hold it against Seattle. I've visited Seattle and it sits near the top of my list of favorite cities.
  21. Same here. I usually support the teams that haven't won in a long while, but I've heard things about Lions fans that put them up there with Philadelphia fans.
  22. For some reason, losing to the 49ers doesn't bother me as opposed to losing to the Cowboys in the 90's.
  23. Images of Barry A. (most recent Rose Bowl).
  24. Someone refresh my memory. Didn't UWM have an issue with a previous AD and/or AD v Coach personality conflict?
  25. Best thing heard on WSCR this morning: "The Bears are good at selling losing."
