  1. Answered my own question. CBS is the network of The Masters (first time being held in the fall).
  2. I was thinking last night that it likes like a Wisconsin UW-Whitewater scrimmage, but that may be an insult to the Warhawks. How about Platteville?
  3. Interesting the game is on FOX and not CBS, considering JAX is the opponent.
  4. I just discovered a part of the City of Milwaukee proper extends past 124th Street into Waukesha County. Less than one square mile and no one resides there. On edit: ditto for Washington County.
  5. I read somewhere yesterday that of the people who voted, 85% had their minds made up...two years ago. All that money to persuade so few people.
  6. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Sophia get hired into the social media area, along with broadcasting duties?
  7. Congressman Grothmann on a TV ad and this morning on WPR said that Vitamin D needs more emphasis. He stated a study out of Spain. OK, I know sunlight contains Vitamin D, so why all the cases in GA, FL, TX and AZ during the summer? Any of the knowledgeable people on this board have any insight on this?
  8. While on that subject, it bugs me they all have gone to the endzone angle. Usually can't see the end rusher until the last moment.
  9. So are you saying that Wisconsin's 5th congressional district is #5 in the entire world? And the entire USA is 20th? I'm confused. My bad, the *sixth* WI CD. See post #717. The USA is 20 new cases per 100,000 daily average.
  10. https://globalepidemics.org/key-metrics-for-covid-suppression/ Click on "United States" and "Congressional Districts". 115 new cases per 100,000 residents, daily average for WI-6. This is ahead of Czechia. So yes, the world's hot spot.
  11. Based on Congressional Districts, Wisconsin's 5th is now the world's hot spot at 115 per 100K per day. The USA is at 20.
  12. The Mariners haven't even made it to the World Series yet. And this is the franchise with a 116-win season.
  13. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/soccer/2020/10/19/milwaukee-wave-cancels-season-ending-longest-run-indoor-soccer/5981809002/ Looks like the Wisconsin Center was going to limit capacity to 250. Well this sucks for soccer fans. Wonder how well this bolds for the Admirals.
  14. Are there abnormally high numbers of store cashiers, bar tenders, restaurant wait staff, teachers, ect. that are testing positive? I did a real quick google and all I found was where COVID "could" be highly transmissible based on conditions but no hard data. I would think it would be rather easy to compile this information and would give us a good sense of the type of situations and environments where COVID is spreading. Remember when grocery store workers were considered "front line workers" back in spring - I don't remember hearing about massive amounts of them getting COVID. Three weeks ago a H.S. classmate of mine died from COVID (age 54, Dane County). She was a bartender, a second job to acquire some spending cash. Will never know if she caught it from a patron, but plausible. So it does happen.
  15. That's the only reason why I tuned in for a couple of innings last night. My first baseball since the Brewers elimination. I find it odd the NLCS is being played in an AL stadium. I understand the reason, but still odd.
  16. Last week I met up with my message therapist and she picked my brain, inquiring how much longer the masking and SD thing will go on. I guessed two years - another year to finalize the vaccination and a year to manufacture the serum and develop the supply network. This morning I went to my first annual physical in two years and my primary also brought up the subject. She independently agreed, one year to make the vaccine and another year for the needed 70% of Americans to get the shot.
  17. Last week on Wisconsin Public Radio they had on the Director of Emergency Services at Bellin (Green Bay). To paraphrase, the biggest contributor to the recent spike is "communal" as in, Grandma got sick because Johnny came over to play.
  18. https://www.jsonline.com/story/communities/waukesha/2020/10/06/matteos-italian-ristorante-waukesha-closing-october/3624717001/ We have dined at this restaurant semi-frequently for twenty years. The food was excellent, but service was slow at times. A couple months back, we wanted to dine there. My wife calls them about safe practices and was given evasive answers. We show up and none of the staff is masked, decided to eat anyways. As we finished up, another party was seated in the booth next to us. We were quite upset about the experience, decided we weren't going back. Then I saw the news yesterday. Can't say that I feel much sympathy.
  19. I understand the point you are trying to make, but does it still hold true? Back in the 80's and 90's with 13-team conferences, the fifth-place team had a huge advantage. I don't have a link pointing to the formula used then. Today, does that advantage still hold?
  20. I’ve got soccer on my mind because I just finished the first season of Ted Lasso on Apple TV, but the Jets are the reason the NFL should consider relegation. Otherwise, there’s no punishment for teams being badly mismanaged. They still make loads of cash. Oh, you drafted a quarterback #3 overall and that didn’t work out? Here’s the #1 overall pick. I’m only half joking. Relegate to where, the XFL?
  21. I've seen worse. 2002. Mid-70's. This year was only two months. 2021 will be a new and hopefully better year.
  22. A bit OT, but I'm calling out the Larry Hisle cutout at Target Field, on the right of the picture. He was a key piece in turning the Brewers around in the 70's.
  23. Robin Yount consulted on the design of the current field and he wanted more triples. He thought the triple was the most exciting play in baseball. Hence, the configuration of the wall in the power alleys.
  24. The main thing I remember most is that the senior level people at the company were given tickets while the rest of us peons worked. But yes, the game was forgettable but the ceremony epic. I may still have it on tape somewhere.
  25. Would this comment be taken as throwing some of the current players under the bus? I would say a lot of those players that did not work out are no longer with the team like Holt, Morrison, Smoak. However, guys like Garcia, Sogard and Narvaez certainly fit as well. The reason I brought it up is story behind Bill Cofield when he started coaching Wisconsin basketball, he stated (previous coach) John Powell's recruits couldn't play for College of Racine (previous job). Some of Powless's recruits were still on the team. Oops.
