  1. I saw one bright spot for the ST: the penalty that negated the muffed punt, the coverage guy was smart enough to not touch the gunner as he was heading OOB and not touching him while OOB, even raising his hands over head, drawing the foul. The Rodgers look-alike looked more like Rodgers than Rodgers.
  2. Well they haven't committed a safety........ Yet. Shades of Walter Stanley, 1980's.
  3. I wonder if he could be a closer in today's version of the game?
  4. Anyone notice on the opening kickoff the screen graphic had "KR 6 Chez Mellusi" as Bracey scoops the ball and returns for the distance? Was that final play a super duper obvious penalty? Otherwise, you don't flag it in that situation. And like Peavy said, cancels the soft call earlier. Curious, anyone know what tickets were going for on StubHub this morning? I forgot to check. I've been getting e-mails (from UW AD) to buy tickets. Hunting and all going on. Last week's game had 20K unscanned tickets.
  5. I'll go with Adrian Houser as longest tenured on the 40-man roster, my standard.
  6. Remember, it's CBS game, not a FOX game despite two NFC teams.
  7. Never warmed up to Lepay for baseball. Maybe due to overexposure? I remember when BA first started with Milwaukee and some here questioned the move, hiring a primarily golf guy. Good call Simba, remember Merle Harmon and his situation very well. Wasn't Loren Brown his replacement?
  8. I picked a good night to go to a gymnastics exhibition.
  9. Well, another opponent to hate. I'm putting Joc Pederson right up there with David Freese.
  10. The odds of winning the DS after winning the first game is like 75%. It can fluctuate based on recent years…but it’s a huge win. 68.75%
  11. I kind of like the outside the box thinking. Is the thought behind is "fans will only go to so many games a year, so offer only 40 instead of 81...leads to larger crowds"?
  12. Meant to be in blue? Also, wouldn't you root against the city that pouched your dad's team?
  13. I very much recall rooting for the Cards over the Dodgers in '85. Jack Clark's dinger making Lasorda's head explode.
  14. My thoughts that I have shared with others: A college education doesn't mean you will be smarter than others. However, when you go to college, you meet people who don't look like you. You meet people who come from a different neighborhood than you. Going to college teaches you how to think. You learn critical thinking skills. You learn to formulate thoughts and opinions based on fact, logic and reasoning. If you doubt this, just refer to general posting on social media in recent times. One can almost tell from reading a post if that person who went to college. Then click on the profile to confirm. To the poster(s) who feels L.A. classes are not necessary, I disagree. I wished I could have taken more.
  15. Also to add to my observation, one could see on the Jumbotron BA being feted at half time, but instead we have the five pretty boys getting in their share of face time.
  16. Not sure if I've seen a game sans commercials in the first quarter. Good insight by Nance(?) as to why.
  17. Yes, it's enforced from the change of possession. It's why the officials throw the blue bean-bag on any C.O.P.
  18. I caught about half the game. Just to find a highlight, I had to rewind my DVR twenty minutes to view Jump Around. Credit the Michigan players and students for getting into it. Yet to be mentioned in these threads, but game three with Gus Johnson. I find him just as intolerable as the Badgers offense.
  19. Ah bonuses, I've heard of those. Does anyone will receive them? In 30 years, (with one exception) I received two - at my first job - $25 each. We were working 55 hours a week. The owner was closer to a billionaire than a millionaire.
  20. Between De Forest and Lake Delton is what gets me. As a kid, had to take that stretch to get to the Dells or Rapids. Then I had a job for two years where I had to drive it twice a week. I always found it boring. Then I realized one stretch is 17 miles between exists and the amount of services is about nil.
  21. Totally uninspiring.
  22. Life has been busy and haven't been able to catch many games this season. Picked a good night to catch the last three innings. During Nieves's no-hitter, I listen to an inning on my Walkman and no idea what was going on. Then had to sub reffing an intramural basketball games so a guy could head out of town, missing the end. I was more impressed by Peterson's catch than Cain's. Does the combined effort take away from the moment? I dunno. Maybe I'm old school and used to CG shutouts. But I understand the game is different today. Plus, I'm older and seen a lot so these moments don't have the same impact than when I was a teenager.
  23. "Lou Grant" as well. I wished one of these oldie channels would show a few old episodes. They show all the other retro shows.
