  1. I attended a game in Baltimore last year and received a Schoop bottle stopper. So a rare time I'm one up on brewerfan nation when it comes to collector items.
  2. Planning a vacation out east next month, evaluating the combinations of where to fly into and when. Found a flight that went for $313, but wanted to secure lodging first so I would where to land. Two days later, the price is $363.
  3. Not Soria-specific question. The CBA allows 72 hours to report. Has any player ever taken close to that long to report when it is a trade to a contending team? One year ago this week I was in Washington for the series with the Nats and even the Nats fans were asking me "when is your new pitcher (Swarzack) getting here? Reagan National is a major airport"
  4. They hardly talked up Aguilar, instead chatting with Freeman(?) I stopped watching long ago with the nine outs rule, the derby took forever. I didn't mind the timed sessions.
  5. Bingo! I hustled my butt to be home by 7 and I missed seeing my Brewers. Hey FOX, primetime starts at 8 ET/7 CT.
  6. Croatia may have had the better "team" and was more fun to watch, but France had the three big guns including the $20-million nineteen year old. The most entertaining and memorable final I've probably seen.
  7. After eight weeks on second shift, I left my job today. It's nice to be home to enjoy watching the first-place team on a weeknight for the first time since May.
  8. Same for me. Now it says it will reopen shortly. I haven't ASG voted since the late 70's when Gillette sponsored it and the ushers handed out paper ballots where you had to punch out the chads. So at 11 am I'm pumped to voted for Jesus and I get the same error as above. Or does this belong in the What's Bugging You thread?
  9. Remember, Ishikawa clinched the pennant for the Giants.
  10. My situation is similar to GAME05. Three years ago I began experiencing some knee pain. An MRI revealed the ligament attaching my quad to my kneecap is 50% torn from the kneecap. At then age 50, decided to live with it. A good PT showed me some exercises to strengthen the hip and quads. I now do activities pain free. If you're in Milwaukee, PM me and I'll pass along his name.
  11. At the half-way point now. Chacin 5.0-2.0 Shaw 4.5-1.0 Aguilar 4.0-1.0 Anderson 4.0-2.0 Braun 4.0-3.0 Peralta 3.0-0.0 Hadar 3.0-1.0 Guerra 3.0-1.0 Yelich 3.0-2.0 Jeffress 2.0-0.5 Suter 2.0-1.0 Albers 2.0-4.0 Davies 1.5-4.0 Arcia 1.0-0.0 Miley 1.0-0.0 Choi 1.0-0.0 Thames 1.0-0.0 Broxton 1.0-0.0 Cain 1.0-1.0 Santana 1.0-1.5 Jennings 0.0-1.0 Barnes 0.0-1.0 Hoover 0.0-1.0 Pina 0.0-1.0 Logan 0.0-2.0 Drake 0.0-2.0 Offense 21.5-10.5 Starters 18.5-9.0 Relievers 8.0-13.5 3 victories where the Win Prob < 10% at one point. 2 defeats where the Win Prob > 90% at one point. Just for fun, I did this for the entire 1982 season to use as a benchmark. PM me for details.
  12. Whomever could have predicted the outcomes of this morning's matches needs to go out and buy lottery tickets. Loved the high drama considering even going into stoppage time a German goal would changed the fate of so many.
  13. Germany. Wow.
  14. I was going to say hopefully they'll have the division wrapped up by then, but now a moot point with the makeup in July.
  15. I was able to catch the first 25 minutes of the England v Tunisia match which the English thoroughly dominated and had a 1-0 lead. Shocked to see it took a stoppage time goal to win it. The Germans looked very vulnerable against the Mexican counter-attack. Interesting to see what adjustments will be made.
  16. I went to the game today, but misjudged the train times. Walked up the ramp to the seating bowl mid-first and felt like unexpectantly walking through a time tunnel to 1983 seeing the unies. Felt like 17 again.
  17. Jimbo and Mrs. Jimbo will be Row 15 behind the Brewers dugout on Saturday and Row 18 on Sunday. Doubtful if I will accept the retro-80s road jersey they're giving away Saturday - IMO one of the ugliest unies the last 40 years. (If it was mid-70's, that's different story).
  18. I'm stuck at work. It sure would have nice if Gameday didn't freeze with Perez's PA.
  19. Keep in mind that someone allowed that three-run deficit to occur.
  20. I went to fangraphs and for each win picked out the player with the highest WPA ("Man of the Match") and each loss found the lowest WPA. Here is the summary: Shaw 3.5-1 Hadar 3-0 Anderson 3-1 Chacin 3-1 Aguilar 2-0 Jeffress 2-0 Guerra 2-1 Albers 2-1 Braun 2-2 Yelich 2-2 Davies 1.5-2 Arcia 1-0 Miley 1-0 Peralta 1-0 Cain 1-1 Suter 1-1 Santana 0-1 Barnes 0-1 Hoover 0-1 Logan 0-1 Drake 0-2 Starters 11.5-5 Offense 11.5-7 Relievers 8-7 Also: 3 victories where the Win Prob < 10% at one point. 2 defeats where the Win Prob > 90% at one point.
  21. I'm temporarily working second shift, so during the week I'll only be to catch just the one day game. I should leave the house by 1:30, but with 2-on and my guy Travis up it's "just one more pitch...OK just one more pitch and I'll go..." turn off the TV and missed the jack by one pitch.
