  1. Brewerfan wins the season opener for the second straight year. Everyone got on base tonight. The lineup looked real good. Stats, box score will be up Friday afternoon or Sunday evening. Who played first base for us in the final inning? I'm surprised we only coaxed one walk, and that was Jamie to lead off the game. 26 hits may be a team record. Brian The Automator announced his retirement. Announced U Robin19 declined arbitration and declared free agancy. Signed OF Happy Youngster and Balkin to one-year contracts with an invitation to spring training.
  3. Ueck said during the signon that Edwards is having bypass surgery Wednesday.
  4. I'm in. Jamie, you need to bring the scorebook. I gave it back to you at the tailgate.
  5. Business: "No such thing as a bad job, only bad pricing." (job = product)
  6. I use to have those academia based dreams, but got over it years ago. Now if anything, I have visions of James Gandolfini or Michael Imperioli chasing me down. I try to outrun them, but it seems I'm never fully safe. Gotta stop watching those Sopranos episodes, luckily only seven more to go.
  7. The ear is fine, now. However, I cooked up a frozen pizza in the oven and the first piece I eat hot cheese drips off and burns my chin. Now I have a burn the shape of string cheese on my chin and it stings and will do so for a couple of days. That bugs me.
  8. If you're talking about more Q-Tips (which probably caused that mess), they will only make the problem worse. If you're not keen on going to the doctor, you could always buy this candle wick thing from Walgreens (ask them, they'll know) that will only cost 10-15 dollars. Good luck I've had this before, but it's been awhile. I need to get some peroxide from Walgreens to loosen things up, I already have the bulb to flush it out. Thanks.
  9. I belonged to SABR for a couple of years in the early 90's. Got a couple of nice journals containing some interesting short articles/stories.
  10. I have some impacted ear wax and there's nothing I can do until I get home from work.
  11. As Art Kumbalek once wrote, you'll never see our baseball team named the Milwaukee Dumb Pollacks. Brian nails it with his post.
  12. What do you say Jaime? He carries a big stick.
  13. I stopped by after work this morning. The City Conference was holding its tourney on two of the fields. And Sijan#2 infield was a MESS.
  14. I know, *weep*, I know. Didn't make it out there this year, despite the Olympic Trials, Fenway Park and beautiful weather (vs. last year). Almost enough to place it in the bugging you thread. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif I knew I was approaching the millenium mark, got there quicker than I thought.
  15. Cool. We get to have our own post-game fireworks show.
  16. I would say DFA, a.k.a. "purgatory". She's buying herself time to decide to keep you or let you go.
  17. How can you be bored? You're young, go out and have some fun!
  18. Just my luck Time Warner recently replaced ESPN Classic with the Golf Channel. My dad has a client who is a former AWA wrestler. His stage name was Peter Lee. If you remember him, you are a wrestling junkie. He was the sacrificial lamb on the TV matches. My dad recently spent a Sunday afternoon watching old AWA shows on Peter Lee's hard drive and swapping stories. He says Greg Gagne is a used car salesman in the Twin Cities.
  19. I think you're allowed to go back to your grandparent's citizenry.
  20. I broke it off after the championship game and now am dating her best friend. Wow. I'm disappointed in her best friend. That's definitely against the rules. Isn't there a Man Law concerning this? Oops, wrong gender (or would it go both ways?)
  21. As John McLaughlin would say: "WRONG!!" In the middle rounds I was in the 65-70 percentile range, yet few people ahead of me picked Kansas to win the title, so I knew I was still in it. A one-point win, every game mattered. Out of 2.2 million brackets submitted to Yahoo!, mine was #26,815. So I figure my odds of winning the 102 person brewerfan pool with this bracket was p = (1 - 26815/2200000)^101 = 0.289744 so a little luck was in play. Basking in this glory is nice, but what is also nice is the $220 I won in the office pool, having to beat out my boss's kid who had Memphis. Thanks for the kudos, TLB!
  22. This will make Chuck Shephard's "News Of The Weird".
