I was part of a 200-mile relay run that started Friday 2 pm in Madison and finished in Chicago 4 pm the next day and we didn't see a drop of rain. We're still amazed at our good fourtune.

I went to the game last night and afterwards had trouble finding my car in the lot (didn't note the location - first game this summer, not in mid-season form yet). I arrive at my car to find two police officers and one Lot Security cuffing two young women right next to it. They asked the women if they preferred to sit down. So out of curiosity I sat in my car for a couple of minutes watching this uinfold, as two young women in skirts with hands cuffed behind their backs sitting on the boulevard. Here's my perspective: I did a long distance race this past Saturday and one of my rivals was way ahead of me, far out of sight. Suddenly a hlaf-mile from the finish he comes back into view and I'm able to fly past him just before the finish. Why? Because his calf was cramping up on him. If he had artificial legs, not an issue. The guy in the story doesn't have to worry about cramping, tightening, or lactic acid building up in muscles he doesn't have. Or other injuries common to tracksters: foot, Achillies (e.g. brewerjamie15).

The distinction between the AL and NL has worn off over the years. Now I just see it as "MLB". Look at how the draft, waiver wire, etc. is now structured. This isn't like the old NBA vs. ABA. I enjoy seeing teams that otherwise wouldn't come to town, a respite from the same-old same-old. I try to make it to one game from each series. Side note: I'm still waiting for Selig to install the "major restructuring" of the divisions as he promised when the Brewers first went to the NL.
