  2. If Kansas wins tonight, I've got this sucker won.
  3. A city is big if it has a subway/rail line.
  4. A girl who ran tack in high school was Sue Keeney. She preferred to be called Susan.
  5. Tom Treblehorn did this in Toronto. Had Chuck Crim move pitch to first to have Plesac pitch to a lefty with a righty on deck. Plesac got the final out of the game.
  6. Have them post odds on the sausage race. Have them calculate the vig.
  7. Watching the game live at home, after that HR *I* had to lean over because I was sick. edit: I tuned in the ninth inning. Looked to me Gagne was squeezed on a couple of pitches to Lee and one to Fukudome. To anyone who watched the whole game, was that a squeeze job or was the ump being consistent?
  8. I spent part of my Saturday afternoon sitting in my driveway listening to the radio broadcast in my car from a station 75 miles away. Hawing is correct. If anything, the title would be declared vacant. The question to ponder is, how did Duluth manage to host both the Conference and National Tournaments? Also, doesn't this Duluth coach have some sort of "past"? Wasn't she with the Canadian team and did something there?
  9. I found Josh Akognon to be just as annoying as Drew Neitzel.
  10. The case has been the buzz in Ness City, said James Ellis, a neighbor. Boy, that's gotta be an understatement.
  11. Congrats to jschris. E-S and Suring were definately the two best teams in the state and it was a fun game to watch.
  12. In past years I would go to the WIAA website and they had a link to Marathon Sports which streamlined the audio.
  13. 1. I always put detergent in first. I believe it says so on the box. 2. The Caller ID shows up at the second ring, so I pick it up then. 3. I take a half-second to check for usage or voice mail. 4. I can count the change as he/she is taking it out of the register. 5. I use my signal 80%-90% of the time. 6. I don't call friends on their cell. 7. I always wait between innings or TV timeouts. 8. I don't have those kind of cravings. 9. Keep an agenda in my head. 10. Never had a problem with ATMs.
  14. Randolph 49, Benton 47 My dad is a Randolph alum. A wild, wild finish. The State Journal coverage didn't give it justice. Benton jumps out to a 17-10 lead on five treys, Randolph responds with a 15-0 to take charge. Just when they had things in hand, turnovers allow Benton new life. In the last 95 seconds, Randolph comitted at least three if not four or five turnovers, only to have Benton miss the tying basket. They played last year. Each team has only one senior this year, so they may play again next year. The game Friday against Eleva-Strum is also a rematch and could decide everything. On edit: hawing, according to my dad it's 12 sectional titles in 15 sectional title appearances. I'll take his word for it, I lost count long ago.
  15. Basically, I just wanted my own plan/provider, independent of what she had.
  16. The votes are in and the winner is... T-Mobile! For $50 I got a nice phone with activation. I'll only need to pay $40 a year to get the minutes I'll need. I'll have good coverage from home. Madison and Central WI will be roaming. I have a 14-day trial and 10 free minutes to see how it works. In spite of the pink website and their ad campaign targeting 16-year old girls, I decided this was the best value. Verizon. I see Brewerfan Nation gives them a lot of love, so I decided to go back tonight and give them a second chance. This time I talked to the rep's boss. Turns out the rep quoted me some wrong prices last night. I could get a good phone for $50 with $35 activation, but a $15 a month minimum to get any minutes. I said straight out to him "This is what T-Mobile is offering, I'm giving you a chance to match it." He shook his head. He admitted they were more expensive, but had a better network. U.S. Cellular. This was my second pick. I would have gone with them but for one thing: a small (but annoying) $6 monthy access fee. They had a couple of nice phones to choose from for just ten bucks. at&t. I liked their plan the best and was all set to up with them Thursday night until the rep showed me the selection of phones to choose from. I found them pretty much unappealling. They had a free phone, but it looked like it came from a Cracker Jack box. Then the three negative comments here today. Sprint. My wife is with them, so I went there first. They didn't have a pre-pay plan, which I find out later they are they only one. I e-mail the rep the following day and mentioned Virgin Mobile which an earlier poster mentioned. But I had moved on. Thanks to all who responded. Verison was just too pricey for me. The T-Mobile rep said they get higher commissions, so they're looking to sell. And she mentioned dissatisfied Verizon people who occassionally come in.
  17. And I wanted this guy to be the Wisconsin coach when the position opened up five years ago. In fact, I still wish he was the coach. I would like for once see Lisa Stone get upset over a loss. I know most you don't follow or care about women's hoops, but Borseth might have been best qualified for the Wisconsin job and was passed over. I think he wants to stick it to UW every chance he gets and he let one slip away. Oh BTW, huge win for the Badgers.
  18. The big question is, what do you plan to use the phone for? I only plan to use it once or twice a month. Basically for "HELP!" or "I'm running ten minutes late" or "Where are you?". Also, I don't plan on moving soon. If I have to, I'll be having much larger issues than cell phone plans. Where are you going to take it? Some providers are better in some places than others. One seemingly unimportant thing is the time and date display of your actual phone device. I stopped wearing a watch when I first got mine, because the time and date were so easy to read. About 95% of my calls will be from Milwaukee/Waukesha/Madison. I see the pre-paid coverages are limited, but good enough for now. I'll always have my watch. It is my alarm clock + stopwatch. Plus, we are not allowed to have cell phones at work. I see many good comments about Verison. I'll go back in tonight. I like their plan. I'll take a closer look at their phones. When I go in a place, I want to get comfortable with the surroundings, browse around and then ask for help. The gal was in my space within ten seconds of me walking through the door, and peppered me with questions. Nothing wrong with that, just her style, not mine. Also, many people in the store - more than the four competitors combined. I guess that says something. A good thread. Many excellent responses. I knew I could count on this board.
  19. For the plan I was interested in, their least inexpensive phone was $80(!!) And I wasn't the most comfortable with their salesperson.
  20. OK, I'm finally getting with it and getting my first cell. I'll be getting a prepaid plan. I've reviewed the plans and phones from the major competitors. I've narrowed it to T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and at&t. So my question, does anyone have any *strong* feelings about any provider, good or bad, regarding product, service or support? Thanks. On edit: I'll be using it strictly for incoming and outgoing calls.

  22. Toronto is an example of how a city's downtown can be beautiful when people take care of it. We honeymooned there and loved it.
  23. I'll throw my hat in the ring. One that stands out for me is "Hawaii Five-O" My wife requested that I download for her from YouTube "Rockford Files" and "Laverne & Shirley".
