  1. So would that mean the wind will be blowing out, in, or across? From right to left. On edit: blowing perpendicluar to the RF foul line, which means of course blowing straight out to left. *BRAIN FART*
  2. We've got to be the -nerdiest- team in the league. LOL I tend to think of it this way: we are the smartest team in the league. We will outthink and outanalyze our opponents to victory.
  3. Go to the main page of any of the forums, and three ads on top (finance, finance, sports odds) stick out to the right.
  4. We're at the field at the top of the satellite photo ICN linked to. So, the Tennis courts are in RF. Following the foul line, is the distance to them still a factor? Took a trip out there this morning with my GPS. It's 213 feet down the RF foul line. The tennis court jets out 60 feet at a 45 degree angle. The infield has grass, but not as much as the field at Hales Corners Park. Twenty feet of dirt ahead and behind second base. There's three pitching rubbers.
  5. Brian, he's thinking of Prarieville. Swing Time is where I go as well. I can get five sets of hacks at 8:30 am Sundays without anyone watching (and laughing at) me.
  6. Has someone verified that all players are in the batting order for the whole game? Yes. Jamie confirmed it during the chat session.

  8. We had a good practice today and afterwards had an informal chat to gather some thoughts together prior to our 7:30 chat. Forum A motion by Jimbo and seconded by Brian for the softball team to have its own forum. (Done!) Scorekeeping I'll be scorekeeping when on the bench (often). http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif #14 Robin19, #34 nullbyte and I believe #31 Bball123h volunteered to cover when neccessary. To keep scorekeeping consistent, Robin19 and I agreed on the method to use. Positions 1 = Pitcher, 2 = Catcher, 3 = First Baseman, 4 = Second Baseman, 5 = Third Baseman, 6 = Shortstop, 7 = Left Fielder, 8 = (Left-) Center Fielder, 9 = Right-Center Fielder, 10 = Right Fielder/Rover Safety Hits 1B = Single, 2B = Double, 3B = Triple, HR = Home Run Outs Any out made via flyball or liner, circle the position number. U = unassisted play Scoring Fill in the "diamond" when a player scores. Note RBIs with a picket-fence type tally in the bottom-right corner. Defense #00 Iron Chef Napalm - corner IF #2 AJAY - LCF #8 Houlie24X - OF #9 Colbyjack - OF #13 valpocrewsader (Matt) - middle IF #14 Robin19 - left at 2:00 #15 brewerjamie15 - P-2B #20 AJOHNSON104 - OF? #23 Brewer Fever (Josh) - P-3B #24 razzzorsharp (Nick) - middle IF #28 Brian - corner IF/OF #31 Bball123h (Kenny) - corner IF #34 nullbyte (Tim) - 1B-2B-RF-C #40 Dougjones43 (Jordan) - OF #54 radman12484 (Matt) - C-corner IF #99 Jimbo - RCF/Rover edit: removed 2 unpaid players from roster.
  9. I'd be glad to help. Great! Maybe after practice Sunday Robin19, nullbyte, myself and anyone else can take five minutes to collaborate on each other's scoring style?
  10. I was in the neighborhood today, so I took some pics. This was as close as I could get. Vincent was playing King in a game. I wanted to get the RF dimensions, I'll have to try another time. http://my.execpc.com/~silkey/brewerfan/sijan1.JPG http://my.execpc.com/~silkey/brewerfan/sijan2.JPG http://my.execpc.com/~silkey/brewerfan/sijan3.JPG
  11. someone please add the exact locations & directions? forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=814.topic
  12. i'm pretty sure that we have no choice but to try and create action-pose softball cards of each player, and then sell them with a piece of bazooka gum. The proceeds could go to funding brewerfan.net!
  13. We could do three teams of 4 each. One team bats, two teams combine to field.
  14. We'll have to do a softball gamecast next year Anybody have Wi-Fi?
  15. Are you going to post pictures on the site as well? Ah Brewers19, that was my trump card!! I have a digital camera that I will bring to some games. From there I will post a link on the 'schedule' page. I also would like to post box scores and link it to the schedule page. The quality of what comes out of my webpage is only as good as the quality of what goes in. Not to beat a dead horse, but that is why I am looking for three or four enthusiastic guys who would be willing to help me keep an accurate scorebook. A couple have already stepped to the plate! I really want to make this a fun experience for all!
  16. Don't you guys battle anymore? I'm not sure if I've heard Yost use that term. I'm thinking back to the TV commercial taped during last year's spring training.
  17. I'll score tomorow's game at The Keg and I'll try to remember to bring it on Sunday. Then you can see how I do it. I just kept score off the internet. Good game to use as an example, lots of plays. We can compare notes.
  18. What's the (n) mean at some games? (n) = night games Games at 9:00 will be under the lights. (cooool)
  19. LINK I need to work on the stat page a bit yet. Any feedback? Edit: relocated filepath.
  20. Jimbo-I've got a scorebook for you. Remind me to give it to ya at the first game. Why not bring it along to practice Sunday and I'll grab it then? In case you're interested, Here, click this That's a pretty good tutorial. I've never done the "diamond/fill" thing before, but I'm aware most people do so I'm willing to go along in order to mainstream things. Also, I usually use S/D/T/HR to symbolize safety hits. But 1B/2B/3B/HR works for me as well. I use "7" for fly out to LF and "7F" for foul out to LF. "6-3" ground out shortstop to first. "4L" line out to second base. "3U" firstbase unassisted. razzor - I could score a couple of innings of a Brewer game and give it to you Sunday for your studies.
  21. As far as stats go that was one of the major reasons I got on board so hopefully it is a go. So razzor, I take it you're volunteering to be the backup scorekeeper when I'm in the field? (hint, hint)
  22. Are you saying dropped balls by the outfielders won't be considered errors? I think they should be. Its the most routine play. I wasn't going to. My reasoning is a fly ball is only routine (at our level of play) if it is hit right at someone. As we've seen in practice, most balls we need to run to catch up to, which to me isn't neccessarily an easy or routine play. I was only planning to mark errors in the extreme cases. What does everyone else think?
  23. FYI, this would be my deinitions of an "E": - an infielder drops a routine pop up. - an outfielder lets the ball go through the legs allowing runners to advance. - any overthrow allowing runners to advance. This goes for both offense and defense. If you want a 'hit', you'll have to earn it. We're amateurs here, so any hard smash to the IF will always be a hit in my book. And any drops or bad hops in the OF I'll call a hit. I'll post all the stats then. Knowing each players K-rate my help us put together a more efficient batting order. If all else, I can always take the bad stats of the board and discuss those items internally.
  24. You can also be confident that considering this site is loaded with baseball junkies that we will surely have statistics available for all to view. Good stats or bad, they will be posted. I know last week one or two people mentioned they didn't care for individual statistics, but no comments from anyone else so I'll go ahead and compile with updates after each game. I brought a spreadsheet along so the guys could see what I would be keeping track and again no comments so I guess everything was OK. As for 'bad' stats like K's and E's, I was planning on putting it in the scorebook for accounting purposes only. I wasn't planning to post them on the stat page. We're not here to put anybody down. I'll start working on a HTML page this week and post it for all to view and provide a chance for feedback before the first game.
  25. Uhm, not to be a downer, but is it really a good idea to be chowing down during the game? The pace is somewhat quick, plus I like to stay light on my feet. That aside, the would be quite a treat Nicole!
