First, the good: Our power guys kept it going tonight: Houlie, valpo, Bball wi th a multi-hit game. Keep in mind guys we retired 9 out of 10 at one point. The score after 3 was 3-1. the bad: Jamie discussed in the other recap thread. the ugly: Anyone aware we had one AB with RISP - when Jamie grounded out to end the game. Also, a 40-year-old man is tied for second on the team in BA. I had wanted to reshoot the team photo this week (better lighting), but after the game the thought totally slipped my mind. We were in no mood for a shoot, anyhow.

I wonder how necessary it is to rearrange anything to create a rover spot It's not really. LF, LC, RF stay the same...use the RC guy as the rover.

Here are my thoughts: *Last week's game: in our state of euphoria over our impending first win, we overlooked the opprotunity to try out a reserve pitcher in the sixth inning. The game moves along so quick. Anyone wish to volunteer to be that person, and speak up to the team when the next chance arises? *Kudos to Iron Chef for keeping track of time. Keeping score, grabbing my watch each inning to check the clock isn't on the top of my mind. Anyone want to step up to the plate and be The Keeper Of The Time? *Yes, I realize we agreed to keep the batting order in tact in the early going. But Robin19 has shown he can rake, putting him in the 12-slot does not do justice to the team. I think we should move him up two places to the 10-slot behind nullbyte ASAP. (We re-evaluate the order top-to-bottom after the fifth game?) *So far one vote to use rover, one vote to maybe use rover after mid-game. So I have two ideas: #1 For this game only, use valpo at rover - he's the best athlete. Move razzzor to SS. Rover: valpo SS: razzzor 3B: Robin 2B: Jamie, then sub nullbyte #2: 3B: razzzor SS: valpo Rover: the two track guys...Johnson, then Jimbo *Any thoughts about Iron Chef's substitution pattern? maybe a rover with speed would work well this game Did anybody watch Anna's closely last week? I was shooting the breese with Al and wasn't paying attention. Just curious if the game was a duplicate of their first game.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas in regards who plays where defensively? Any changes? Try someone in a new spot? Substitution patterns? I have a few thoughts, but I'll wait until tomorrow to post. Let's see what others have to say!

i think he meant not starting your 10 best players only to have #11-15 or whatever come in and take some of the better players out in the 4th or 5th inning. One possibility if all 16 guys show up, rotate 9 guys in and out of three positions (say C, 1B, RF) two innings each, and play 7 seven guys full time.

If we were going to do one giant switch near the halfway point, I thought it might be a good idea to mix around the talent to maintain some consistency on the field. I don?t know what the best mixture is and I?m a horrible judge of talent; it was just something I thought could have an adverse impact on the game and could be discussed. Are you suggesting: a) starting three guys off the "DH" list along with seven position guys, play four innings and replace three "DH" guys and three position guys? b) have the "DH" guys field two innings each, substituting for each other?

I'd love to join you guys, but I'm running a marathon Sunday morning and I need to 'save' myself. But I should be recovered and ready to go for Thursday's game. I apologize for not getting the word out. The sun was out at 5 pm, at 6 pm Channel 4 showed extremely scattered showers. I never thought about calling back in. Paula and I got out there at 7:30. The pavement was dry from Waukesha all the way to Bay View. Three guys from White House were there. They said the cancellation came from the Main Office at 6:15. They said it rained hard there just a few minutes, and even then the sun was out. They were pretty mad there was no game. They said to me they would lodge a complaint on Friday. They said two years ago the first three games were rained out and they were re-scheduled and played. They said definately these will be made up in July. The field looked playable. The dirt was very damp, but no standing water. The outfield looked great. For the guys playing LF, bring shades for the 7 pm games.

As of 4:20, all games at all fields are ON. think our BrewerFever should be out there every time he's there. Robin, I agree with you. Eventaully we will need one or two backups. I don't think we match well with our next opponent. I think we can be competetive with the other five teams. If we want to take a couple of innings to experiement, I'd rather do it this week as opposed to a game we have a chance to win. That leaves Al to maybe pitch. Anyone else? Of course, all this is your call Jamie.

Yeah, infield! Can't wait to play. Whoa Robin, I was only throwing out ideas. Brewer Fever is right and I didn't make myself clear. If we put in a sub pitcher, keep Fever in the field somewhere in case he needs to pitch again.
