  1. I'd like to throw my hat into any position that will get me on the field for more innings. Like I said in another thread, if the team starts to intentionally take pitches I don't think I'll be that effective. I'll try to pitch BP on my other teams to get some practice in if you need me, though.
  2. I don't know how effective I'll be. I usually only pitch in mop up innings when the opposing team will swing at close pitches. If I started a game and they start taking pitches, I've got a good chance to start walking people. I can fill in for an IF position if need be.
  3. Those lights take 20 minutes to turn on. We once had the person turn off our field lights instead of the other field, and it took a 20 minute delay and a re-warm up before we could play again. Good win everyone. Does this mean I get more time in the field?
  4. Brewer Fever: We knew we were going to lose and were mixing up every position, including pitcher. I want you out there next week when the game should be a little closer.
  5. I think we should switch Razzor's suggestion and his first 3 innings be the last three innnings. We don't always play 7 innings in one hour.
  6. Which is why this isn't possible. We can either have no (or one) DH and have the people subbed out not be able to play, or have every bench player be a DH. This is the powerhouse, correct? Then maybe I or another back up pitcher should just start the game. We could also mix up our D this game just to give guys chances at other spots. It depends on how much we think we can win this game.
  7. Jenkins sucks. Trade him for a bag of balls.
  8. Do we hit abnormally high GB outs, or just GBs in general. If our ratio of GBhits/GBouts is the same as other teams, I don't see this as much of a problem. A lot of teams have players that can hit bombs, so a lot of teams swing for the fences.
  9. I agree with BB in that I (robin) am a OBP guy and not a SLG guy. My career SLG is only .066 above my OBP. I am a third baseman, Razzor, so if you ever want an inning off or an inning at another spot, just let me know. And we are 30% of the way through the season. I think it's a good size sample. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. Iron Chief: I sent you an email to your gmail account.
  11. I can't practice Sunday. I work 6 am till 2pm. I can play anywhere in the diamond, but I'm better at IF. I'm about 50 lbs overweight so running around the OF leaves me exhausted while running the bases. Except for the OFers running up on base hits, I think our defence is fine. With the field we play on, bad hops will happen a lot and balls will get away from you. You have to expect errors in this league and field. I think our problem was that we all went cold for the same game and only had 7 base hits in 7 innings. Jamie, I think it's just a cold streak for you. You're pressing too much because you are the "table setter" at the top of the lineup and you're putting too much pressure on yourself. I've gone through cold streaks before. I was in the middle of a cold streak for our first game when I went 0-3 (it was the middle of a 0-11 streak for me). Just relax when you go up there. You're kind of over swinging during the games. Swing at the first pitch you can reach, don't worry about getting a strike first. Then you have to swing defensively. And don't swing hard at the ball, just swing nice and easy and put it in play. This is what I do when in a cold streak. You're the leadoff man, we want a nice easy basehit not a homer.
  12. Wait a second. I go 3-3 and get dropped from 11th to 12th? I might also be getting there close to starting time.
  13. I thought EY was safe. Ok by me. And I think we were all there for the joke. We've been following his performance this year.
  14. Well, it was a picture of the original Mongo from Blazing Saddles. Miller gave Turnbow the nickname of Mongo. Not for me anymore. I completely understand that feeling of getting kicked in the nads. That perfectly describes how I feel.
  15. I will be changing my icon. I'm close to hanging myself right now. My brother's favorite player is T-Bow, it's my brother's birthday, and he's at the game (he only gets to about 2-3 games a year). This sucks.
  16. I was screaming at my screen about why Clark would try to steal there. Then I realized that wasn't Clark. No clue what he was thinking, unless someone missed a sign.
  17. I like how the Nat's announcers don't understand how Double D can be striking out people. They keep talking about his last outing. How about you check his stats for the last two years?
  18. Thank you Nicole, that was delicious. The only thing better than free food is free great food.
  19. I'll be there at 11 with a bat and glove.
  20. Saturday before around noon (like starting at 11) would work well with me.
