  1. 1.1 Hunter Greene - Twins are not shy about top tier HS talent. Greene is definitely that.
  2. I'm in the less is more camp for promotions at this point. Those that are overly dominant, sure. Supak and Burnes...fair enough. Easy enough to make room and Supak replaces Burnes. This is our first year in Carolina, perhaps keeping the affiiliate happy is a goal too. If someone forces the hand, great. Otherwise let it play out and gain some stability.
  3. I was really surprised by Begin Again with Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley. On Netflix if that is your medium of choice.
  4. I remember being in attendance at that second game with you. What a memorable evening. That grand slam was so deflating. Up 10-5...boom...so many ups and downs. Have fun on your visit and safe travels.
  5. Sounds like a fun trip. I currently live in-between Baltimore and DC. DC is defintely a walkable city for the majority of the sites. I agree, walk the monuments at night. Less crowds, heat and it's pretty awesome. If you're planning on driving around, DC is not the worst on weekends if you don't mind paying for parking. I believe Sundays are free on-street parking if you can find it. Garages are cheaper too, use parking panda and you can park all day for like 10-15 at many spots. Don't think you're going to come into town and see 3 or 4 museums in a day. You'll need to pick one and give it an honest effort. Do your research beforehand as there are plenty of fantastic spots to eat and drink. Baltimore is an interesting town, but less touristy than others. Inner Harbor is the main attraction since you have both the football/baseball stadium, surrounding bars/restaurants and the harbor. The main attraction outside of Camden yards is the Aquarium. Top notch if that is your thing and that is located on the harbor. If I was going to Baltimore for a road trip I would head to the inner harbor for some food. Walk over near the power plant for better fare than the stuff right at the harbor by the USS Constellation. Anywhere from shake shack to fogo de chao brazililan steakhouse is around there. If you go about two blocks past the inner harbor you will find Little Italy with some fantastic options. Most people visiting Maryland want crab cakes and you can get them in so many places. Everyone has their favorite spot, but I'd just go to trip advisor or yelp and find one. They are nearly all delicious. It's a lot of crab meat, so don't expect them to be cheap. If you like history, then Independance Hall and the liberty bell are must see. I'd avoid the whole cheesesteak adventure. Not worth the hassle to head over to Pat and Genos and find which one you'll like better. They are good, but not must see TV. And cheese steaks are all over the East Coast. I've had many that were far better than those two classic spots. It's a bit of walk from the Liberty Bell area and parking is rough. On street, jammed apartments. I would likely rent a car because I like flexibility and at the end of the day you'll likely spend close to the same on car/gas/parking/tolls as you would on all the trains combined for 2 people.

  7. I'm in favor of this. Lets also get Henry Rowengartner to throw out the first pitch if the Cubs unfortunately make the series.
  8. I use a fan. White noise and cool air...I'm out in minutes. I had trouble sleeping while switching between night and day shifts every couple months while in the army. The fan works great for me.
  9. I get the best rates by shopping around. Seems rate increases are automatic every year and, similar to cable/dish, most just pay it. We have switched car insurance every year for the past 3 and get lower rates every time. Same coverage and deuctibles. I'm located in Dc/Baltimore at the moment. I have a clean record, no tickets or recent accidents.
  10. Obviously we use that 8 million to invest in the Carolina Mudcats for long-term stability. I'd prefer if they didn't undertake a big capital investment for food again and use that money to improve the minor league pipeline.
  11. Samurai, please update us on how everything goes. I'm curious to see your thoughts on your setup.

  13. That is Breaking News! Heart Breaking!
  14. Or sit back and enjoy every hit literally being a moonshot.
  15. Is this the first time in history that Toledo has been referred to as a nice thing?
  16. http://www.baseballamerica.com/business/minor-league-affiliation-chart/#bgDzCrjh8haxq17d.97a Looks like last High A affiliate left is Carolina after Wilmington reups with Royals. Sucks for me since Wilmington is like 1.5-2 hrs away.
  17. Just another point to add to why I hate Wrigley field.
  18. I keep him. He is young, controllable and lights out. If you put a longer track record on him, you get a more significant package. We need to maximize his value and in order to do that we need that longevity. We could get a nice chip this offseason. If things keep up, we could get some excellent chips.
  19. Normally, yes. But a little known rule is that if a prospect receives a first place vote in the process they automatically get an additional 10 inning extension, granted that their average fastball velocity is greater than the average speed of a major league change up.
  20. Who do you have as Player and Pitcher of the Year for the Brewers minor leagues? I would vote Woodruff and Diaz. Who ya got?
  21. I was disappointed overall. I watch the Olympics to see the world stage and events that do not get much air time. I despise NBC's fluff pieces because it seems like that is over 50% of the content. The US-centric coverage, ok, I get it. But I still want to see more action and less BS. And way too much swimming and gymnastics for my taste. The delayed coverage was weak. Countless spoilers on medals before seeing it live.
