  1. timeisnow: Dude, take it easy. 15 ABs=small sample size. Small sample size=pretty much meaningless.
  2. Here we go, the lineups, from Yahoo! (very interesting): For the visiting Brewers: Gross, cf Hardy, ss Jenkins, rf Lee, lf Koskie, 3b Hall, 2b Fielder, 1b Miller, c Sheets, p For the Metropolitans: Reyes, ss Lo Duca, c Delgado, 1b Wright, 3b Floyd, lf Nady, rf Chavez, cf Hernandez, 2b Bannister, p First day off for an outfielder today, and Gabe Gross gets the start for the struggling Brady Clark. Also, Rickie gets another day off, not sure as to why this is. Man, I really wish Ned Yost would realize that Corey Hart actually does exist.
  3. Good to see Mike Jones pitched decently for Brevard County today. Good 5-1 Gb-Fb ratio, and nothing he could do about those errors. Hope to see him back on track in the future.
  4. Just to set the record straight, Kazu is not Ohka's middle name. It's just the end of his first name. His official name is Tomokazu Ohka. Nonetheless, that kazoo idea is priceless and awesome. Someone should edit that fighting okra into a kazoo-playing okra. Now that would be the sweetest mascot ever.
  5. Why hit and run though? JJ hits a line drive, double play. JJ doesn't make contact, Leadfoot's caught stealing. It's the 1st inning, let your players hit and see what happens. None of this hit and run crap, please.
  6. This should be no surprise, either. Hall's sitting because Trachsel's a RHP. Koskie mashes RHP's, Hall not so much.
  7. Lineups, per Yahoo!: Brewers: B. Clark cf J.J. Hardy ss G. Jenkins rf C. Lee lf C. Koskie 3b R. Weeks 2b P. Fielder 1b C. Moeller c T. Ohka p Mets: J. Reyes ss A. Hernandez C. Beltran cf C. Delgado 1b D. Wright 3b C. Floyd lf X. Nady rf R. Castro c S. Trachsel p Go Brewers!
  8. The thing I fear, though, is if Lee or Jenkins do get a break in an upcoming game, will Yost even give Hart the start? He's already shown an affinity for using Gabe Gross off the bench. I'm scared that Yost would bench an outfielder, give Gross the start, and let Corey continue to rot on the bench. The guy's gotta get some AB's.
  9. Doesn't look like it....their lineup looks like it has all series pretty much, minus the catcher.
  10. Good game...now go Rangers so we can be all alone atop the Majors.
  11. Yeah, I heard Powell say that. I say let's keep going for 162.
  12. That other set was 7-31, 8-2, 8-3, and 8-4. There were a few times where he didn't get to pitch in a game with a save opportunity after only 2 consecutive games, or in one case, 1 (40 pitch BS against the Twins). It looks like Yost uses pitch count a lot to determine whether or not to use Turnbow. The one example from late June and early July happened because Turnbow only threw 2 pitches to get 2 outs in his 6-30 appearance, so it was basically just 2 consecutive days of pitching with a day of rest followed by 2 more games.
  13. Just a thought, but if you're Ned Yost, do you think really hard about starting Chad Moeller tonight? That way you're sure to get Damian Miller aka Jake Taylor against a tougher pitcher tomorrow. If Miller starts tonight, it's very possible that Chad will start tomorrow being a day game. If we have to see Chad this weekend, I think tonight should be the night.
  14. Wait a second....is this the drunk thread or the relationship thread?
  15. Tau, Just so you know, Wise's WHIP last year was 0.96. That's fairly incredible, and probably tough to reproduce. A good WHIP would be between 1 and 1.25. But don't worry, Turnbow's pitched only 3 innings. Don't make too big a deal over this, or the small sample size police will come after you.
  16. Why does every single player get his milestone plays against the Brewers? I'll bet Bonds hits numbers 755 and 756 agains the Brew Crew.
  17. Sorry to mess with you guys, but I can make the draft now, so if joshjs really wants to join, and you feel up to it clancyphile, I'll rejoin and we can have 12 teams in the league. Sorry about this, but plans that came up spur of the moment fell through spur of the moment, so now I could still make it to the draft.
  18. I think I (Potato Mashers) will drop out of the league. This will reduce the teams to 10, and it will make the league more competitive as I will now unfortunately not be able to make it to the draft. Sorry I couldn't do it.
  19. Doh...I got the draft mixed up with another league and thought I didn't draft until Saturday...Oops...well, I guess no Neugebauer jersey for this guy. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  20. If you still need people, you can count me in...
  21. Chad Moeller crushes one and picks up an RBI after initially attempting an RBI bunt single. Free Chad Moeller! (or just don't unfree him?)
  22. Anyone know who hit between Pierre and Ramirez last inning? I missed the name.
  23. Yes, they have. That's about the 3rd time I've heard it this spring, and I haven't been listening all that much.
  24. I can do some PBP for a little while now if anyone wants. After 1 and a half innings, score is still 0-0 Bottom 2nd Capuano pitching Michael Barrett: 4 Todd Walker: 4-3 (Corey Hart heads off diamond thinking there are 3 outs, and apparently gets laughed at by J.J. Hardy) Matt Murton: BB Ronny Cedeno: HR, Murton scores, 2-0 Cubs Sean Marshall: 9 Diving Catch by Jenkins 1 Hit, 2 Runs (Both Earned), 0 Errors Top 3rd Marshall pitching Chris Capuano: U3 Brady Clark: 8 J.J. Hardy: Single to Left-Center Geoff Jenkins: 6-3 1 Hit, 0 Runs, 0 Errors Bottom 3rd Juan Pierre: Double down 3rd base line Jerry Hairston: B1-3, Pierre to 3rd Aramis Ramirez: "Single" (E5 if scored by competent people), Pierre scores, 3-0 Cubs Jacque Jones: K looking Michael Barrett: 5 2 hits, 1 Earned Run, "0" Errors Brewers, Brewers keep turning up the heat! Top 4th Bobby Howry now pitching Nelson Cruz: Double to Right Bill Hall: Double to Right-Center, Cruz scores, 3-1 Cubs Jeff Cirillo: BB Corey Hart:GIDP 6-4-3, Bill Hall to 3rd Chad Moeller: Double to Left Center, Bill Hall scores, 3-2 Cubs Chris Capuano: K I think? I spaced out a little bit. 3 hits, 2 runs, both earned, 0 Errors Bottom 4th Todd Walker: 8 Matt Murton: 4-3 Ronny Cedeno: 7 0 Hits, 0 Runs, 0 Errors Top 5th Brady Clark: Single to Left J.J. Hardy: FC 3-6 (Hardy almost hit by pitch, but swung anyways and made contact, DP ball, but Walker wasn't on bag when throw was made) Geoff Jenkins: 6-5-3 DP (Big defensive shift) 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 errors That's all I can do for now, go Brewers.
  25. Unlucky, but it's back to being 0 posts in the forum again....
