  1. No he isn't.....he did what the manager told him to do..... at least be mad at the right guy an mlb shouldn't have to depend on the manager telling him what to do. an average mlb player should be smart enough to make the right call on the field of play. No. This is not true. Either it's the "Going on contact" play, or it's the "freeze and see what happens like you should be doing" play. There is no, "If it's a line drive, freeze, if it's a ground ball at an infielder break late and hope you beat the throw" play.
  2. So, I just got home, and haven't had the game on at all.... can I get a recap?
  3. I've decided to go away from civilization this weekend, and I am really excited about it. Porcupine Mountain State Park here I come, backpack and all.
  4. It's funny, because it didn't even start with the Braves. It started with loyal FSU fans bringing it to Atlanta when Deion Sanders played there.
  5. If they pick Parker, the tweener who doesn't play defense over Exum or Embiid I'll be throwing things and flipping tables.
  6. You know the thing about a Doumit's eyes, he's got... lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eye. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'. Until he bites ya and those black eyes roll over white. My friends and I have always called him hypnotoad. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view6/2597898/hypnotoad-o.gif
  7. Brewers now have taken the 2nd fewest walks in the NL and have the 4th worst BB% in MLB. Go figure their offense is struggling.
  8. Bianchi is fine for what he is: A backup SS who plays solid defense and can play anywhere else on the field too. As for our opening day starting 1B....
  9. There are 6 hitters in the lineup better than Schafer. Everyone except Herrera and Lohse. There's no way he should be hitting leadoff.
  10. I just want to add, there was almost 35000 people there to close out against the Pirates for a noon start. The previous two nights games were both under 25000.
  11. After watching this forum go bonkers over the thought of moving Braun to RF (or 1B) during the off season, it's amazing that now people want a guy who's played 2B for 10 years to play 4 different positions.
  12. I was at the game, that hit had 2 runs written all over it. Was an amazing play. Also, Weeks not scoring in the first was because the pitcher stared him back to the bag. I was shocked he was still able to turn the DP.
  13. Fiers was never the same after RRR let him get lit up in Colorado. Then he broke his arm last year, and now he's healthy and has found his groove again. I hope we see him up this year. Starting pitching depth... who knew? Oh, and I still think Smith get's the first crack at starting if someone gets hurt.
  14. After last night, I cannot blame them. I there were tons of complaints, because of the wind, I was in the LF bleachers and it was probably a 40 degree windchill with the roof open. My buddies in the upper deck, behind home plate, said there was no wind where they were.
  15. You tell 'em, buddy!
  16. Standing O, for sure, from my crew. I gotta find my Sabathia T-shirt now.... Why would you wear a Sabathia t-shirt when he's pitching against the Brewers? Just my own minor homage to the guy who I saw put the Brewers into the playoffs for the first time in 25 years.
  17. Section 207, per an email sent out on Sunday to all attendees. I'm officially excited now! I'm in 204 for the game tonight. May have to stop by and raise a glass.... Maybe you guys can start a V.O.R.P! chant or something.
  18. Joe Posnanski chimed in with his own piece.... http://joeposnanski.com/joeblogs/the-intentional-walk-rage-system/
  19. Standing O, for sure, from my crew. I gotta find my Sabathia T-shirt now....
  20. I've gone hiking the past 3 weekends, wore shorts each time and have been stubbornly telling my friends "There's baseball, it's summer. Trust me." for 5 weeks. Glad to see spring finally show up.
  21. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=30830 Had a lot of good info

  23. Lefties pitch to lefties. Kameron Loe pitches to Joey Votto. It's the Roenicke Way.
  24. In general, i'd rather see Gomez hitting somewhere around 5th or 6th in a batting order with Lucroy hitting 2nd, but looking at the roster, there really is no obvious leadoff hitter option at all. So i guess for now, it may as well be Carlos because who else is there to replace him and instead let Gomez be in an RBI spot in the order? I fully supported the Aoki trade at the time and still do, especially in watching Smith pitch and seeing Davis starting to get hot at the plate. That said, the trade did remove the only obvious leadoff candidate on the team and someone has to bat there. Last 22 games for Gomez: .227/.289/.455/.743 I think, with everyone healthy, Lucroy should be the guy hitting leadoff, with Braun 2, and Ramirez 3....Maybe Gomez hitting 4. If Votto can hit 2nd, Braun can hit 2nd.
