  1. They do this on Mad Men all the time. Didn't they have ice buckets in the 1960's? Nothing more refreshing than a straight up room temperature Scotch! http://scotchhunter.com/storing-and-serving-scotch It's no different then those silly bars that pour an ice cold stout, or IPA or porter into a frosty mug... both of which are way too cold to let you truly experience the beer.
  2. Then how do the 2 scoreless innings he's thrown factor into the numbers? Wang has only pitched 3 innings total. He gave up 6 runs.
  3. Oh my gosh. That was the most horrible and blatantly sexist commercial I've heard in a long time. "Oh gosh and when I dust them, I talk to them and ask them things like, "Should I buy the dress I want?""
  4. several teams copied the brewers. the nats presidents race is a bad copy. No, the bad copy is the Rockies, who race toothpaste, a tooth brush, dental floss and mouthwash, I believe.
  5. They have $ issues, but even moreso they have roster spot issues. They already have 11 guys signed for next year, I believe, that doesn't include Udoh.
  6. They'll have 1-4, 31, 36 and another 2nd rounder, 49, which is Toronto's that they got via Phoenix.
  7. The BC is gone with a new arena. The Cell is smaller, in much better shape (internally) and will still host smaller events (UWM games, Wave games, etc). The BC is going to need 100 million in fixes over the next 10 years, every dime of that 100 million could go towards a new arena as well.
  8. I know it's convenient to say but Segura's shoulder isn't causing him to swing at every pitch and ground out. It's the exact same thing he did in the second half last year. But I was told there was nothing wrong with him the second half last year. He was just tired. That's all. Just tired.
  9. They definitely are. I'm not sure if I'm tailgating for that series yet, but if I am, you're more than welcome to come have a beer and a brat in the lot with my tailgate crew.
  10. It's actually really easy, and everyone should do this: 1) Stop quoting him 2) Go to User Control panel (top right) 3) Go to Friends & Foes 4) Manage foes, and add his name there.
  11. Yep, Estrada is not trying to hit corners at all. He's up there just laying it down the middle of the plate on purpose and hoping the Cards just hit the ball right at someone. If the Brewers win it means they're smart. If they lose, it means they're dumb. Makes perfect sense. He can't fool the Cards with a 88 mph fastball down the center. He can't fool himself into believing his stuff is good enough to blow batters away for 6 innings by throwing a balloon down the middle of the plate. Dude. Seriously. Go outside. Go for a walk or something. Take a deep breath. Turn the game off. You are coming off as much too personally invested and angry over this. It's April.
  12. It's become more and more of a problem over the last 3-4 years. I've noticed it as well. I ALWAYS wait until between At Bats to get up or go back to my seat. I wish Ushers were instructed to enforce this. It's just simple etiquette.
  13. What a long season. One more game. I'm going, I'm going to cheer for a victory, and I'm going to root for the #1 pick, a new owner, a new GM, and a new coach.
  14. The stadium opens 1.5 hours before the game. As for food prices, almost everything is under $10, I would look into the specialty food carts, and AJ Bombers outside of the 1st base side of the stadium, personally.
  15. Phew, it's a good thing we brought in Zack Duke to face 1 LHB with a 4 run deficit. If only RRR had another lefty who needs to get some work in and could use in that situation....
  16. Will any game ever beat the night with TLR whining about the ribbon boards before the game, coupled with some Braun/Pujols bean ball wars, coupled with Yadi spitting on an ump, coupled with some media guy coming from home to snap on TLR after the game and it getting all over ESPN? That game snapped an 8 game home winning streak, and cost me a seat in a suite.... I'd been to the entire homestand, and the next game was during the day, and my boss had promised me a day off and a spot in the suite if they won that night.

  19. No one on the team is taking walks this year. I'm not sure if it's a coaching thing, or if it is the way they've been pitched thus far. They are 5th in BA and 15th in OBP. Let's put it this way: Carlos Gomez has as many walks as Braun, Segura, Gennett, Ramirez and Davis combined. Gomez has walked 4 times.
  20. There are no more tickets for that area. It is first come first served, and just barstools by the wall, and then a bar area where you can't really see anything past 2nd base from 3 feet behind those.
  21. You do realize he is already under contract for 4/$14.25M? Or do you mean after the completion of that? I meant through his mid-30s, though I guess you are right that he would probably not agree to a new extension unless his current extension was superseded so he gets a higher salary. Something else to consider: if we buy into developing advanced metrics that say Lucroy is perhaps the best pitch-framer in baseball, is there another skill that is less likely to decline with age? The problem isn't that his pitch framing skill will decline, the problem is that his knees might decline and he won't be able to catch anymore.
  22. They played this twice during the game last night. Yep. I'm over it already.
  23. I've been to Biggs a bunch (they sponsor one of our Ultimate Frisbee leagues), and the only thing I've had there that was overly tasty, was their pizzas and their rib tip appetizer.
