  1. Well you can buy MLB.tv or the audio, or do some hunting on the Internet... All my usual go to sites don't have baseball links. I miss hearing Uecker call games. I'll look into the MLB audio thing. It's $20 for audio only. Great deal. Careful, though, if you want audio on your phone, I believe you'll want to purchase MLB At-Bat instead.
  2. http://steroids-and-baseball.com/healing-effects.shtml The game has changed. No longer is striking out a sin. No longer is hitting .300 a requirement. The value of walks, the value of power are both realized much more by Coaches and GMs. Adam Dunn would've been run out of the league in the 40's or 50's.
  3. I cannot believe they are hitting him leadoff. I thought they fired Dusty Baker.
  4. I can't see any logical fan throwing any ball back at any game if they were lucky enough to get it, especially one with a name attached to it. Closest I ever got was one going off the tip of my fingers. What good would it be to be the guy who can only say "Oh, I caught Braun's third home run in a game and threw it back"? If I catch an opposing team's home run ball, ever, I'm immediately handing it to the nearest sub-10 year old kid I see.
  5. He runs out, talks to the ump. Get's the signal from the dugout whether to challenge or not. It's really very simple. I can't speak for the time he didn't bother to go out on the field.
  6. I don't think Gomez duplicates his 2013. I don't think he OBP's above league average. I hope I eat crow, but he didn't change his approach much last year. It's not like his BB% had a big jump, what spiked was his LD%, and maybe he sustains that, and I hope he does, I just doubt it. Enjoy the crow..It's amazing how under-appreciated Gomez is. He's a star. There are two kinds of effective leadoff hitters. There are the real high OBP guys of course that work counts, take walks and get on base at a high percentage. Then there are the guys that are straws that stir the drink. For the lack of a better term, lets say they ignite the offense. Molitor never took a ton of walks or had real high OBP either. But he ignited the offense. Gomez does the same thing. He has a rare power/speed ability and is a real irritant to the opposition. He's the heart and soul of this Brewer team. Appreciate him for it. His next contract is going to be in the stratosphere. I'll happily eat crow, especially if he keeps on walking, and his BABIP stays over .500 all year. You're completely wrong about Molitor. He was nothing like Gomez. He has a career .389 OBP and 9% BB rate (that's higher than Braun's career rate, for comparison).
  7. Bill Simmons tweeted out that a sale of the team is all but imminent.

  9. I'd wager a bunch of money it's your blu-ray player. They are meant to play blu-ray not run RAM heavy apps. I'd imagine the computing power on your blu-ray player is dwarfed by your ipad
  10. Or getting mad at yourself and spiking the baseball into the ground...
  11. Modern Family, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is pretty darn good, Parks 'n Rec, Community. If you want to go old school/Netflix.... the entire run of Cheers is on there, and is amazing.
  12. "You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna go date my best friends ex wife with the blessing of my kids"
  13. If it's his shoulder (which I assume it is) and they have a day off tomorrow, it makes it even dumber, considering they could've retroactively DL'd him and he could've played on Friday ANYWAY.
  14. Segura already getting a day off.... with a day off tomorrow. If he's not healthy he should've started the season on the DL.
  15. If you want to look at just the solid numbers, look at RE24. Look at the difference in value from 0 on and 0 out, to 1 on and 0 out, and 0 on and 1 out to find the break even point for success. I would do this, but I am swamped this week and don't have time for a proper response.
  16. Brewers are now winless since Hank the Dog lost his man bits.
  17. I can name the leaders for almost every position fairly confidently (I think), except 2B and C... so I'm guessing it's those two positions but no idea who it would be.
  18. One of my all time favorites. The other Mr. Jones. Chipper's twin brother, Andruw.
  19. I do think it was an intentional tank job, they just didn't want it to look like one by adding guys like Mayo, Neal, Ridnour. I'm not a big Hammonds fan, but don't hate him either. Frankly I don't care if he stays or goes. I think Drew has done a good job, they have played hard for the most part even when it became clear they were an awful team. All except Mayo that is, but can't fault Drew for that. Not sure how you motivate Mayo, short of hanging Big Macs from the rim. They've given up the highest percentage of 3's in the league, and they shoot the fewest corner 3's in the league. Drew's offensive and defensive scheme's are antiquated and horrible. The team was expected to make the playoffs this year. Larry Sanders and Ersan's injuries prevented that. There is no way this was an "intentional tank job" if it was, the front office is even dumber than I could imagine. Tying up long term money in guys like Mayo, Zaza, Neal, Delfino... instead of, I don't know, playing young guys.
  20. Your 6 of 10 success rate is way too high. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-truth-about-bunting/ So, they aren't even bunting the ball fair half of the time. Let alone having it be a successful bunt.
  21. This. I thought when it happened, I don't know if Rickie gets to that. And just totally impressed with Scooter. His approach on his hit to left field was fantastic. What a great game! You mean the one hopper 2 steps to his left, 25 feet on the OF grass? Anyway, I'm worried that K-Rod closed. I'm worried that Overbay started. I'm worried that RRR brought Rickie off the bench to face a tough righty and the crowed booed him off the field. I'm happy for 1-0. Baseball. Hooray!
  22. Sam Dekker guarding Randle is going to be a huge issue, especially if Cauley-Stein can go, and Kaminsky is on him.
