  1. Why can't we ever have a ballsy manager who doesn't kiss his players' wounds and tell them everything will be all right? Because Ryan Braun got Ken Macha fired.
  2. I think he needs a quicker release. And about 4". He just isn't tall enough and don't think he can guard opposing point guards.
  3. The US did exactly that to Ronaldo during their match against Portugal. Yet, he still burned them in the 92nd minute.
  4. I'm glad somebody's reading it. Slow day in baseball history. FDR became the 1st pres. to go to the ASG and this on another forgotten great: 1070... Rico Carty, the National League's leading hitter, becomes the first player voted to play in the All-Star Game as a write-in candidate. The Braves outfielder's name was left off the ballot that was drawn up by managers and general managers before the start of spring training. And this: 2008.... The Brewers trade four highly touted farm hands to the Indians to obtain C. C. Sabathia. The Brew Crew sends their first-round draft pick last year, Matt LaPorta, along with minor league pitching prospects Zach Jackson and Rob Bryson, as well as Taylor Green (identified as the player to be named later), who was Milwaukee’s minor league player of the year, to Cleveland. CC at his best. Better looking, but scuffling this year to stay under 5.00 ERA. I'm unfamiliar with those traded prospects. Did any of them amount to anything with the Tribe? It wasn't Taylor Green who went, it was Michael Brantley, who's having himself a fine time in Cleveland.
  5. Why can't we hit our best hitters all in a row? Why do we need to bump up a crappy hitter to the #2 hole when Braun is out?
  6. There are like 9 4th OF's in AAA. Problem is, we have two backup infielders that only backup 1 IF position, so we can't carry a backup corner OF.
  7. Just want to add, if you are running Windows 7, you don't need to defrag, it does that for you... and if you're running a 32 bit system (and not a 64 bit operating system) you won't want to upgrade above 3GB, as Windows won't use anything over 3.25 Gig of RAM. To find that, you can right click on "Computer" and select properties.... the "System type" will tell you if it's 32 or 64.
  8. 1) Joey Votto can't even stand in the batters box, it's amazing he's playing. 2) Why don't we bunt the ball to first base and make him run?
  9. (as I pull up the bracket) I like Brazil and Germany today. I like Costa Rica and Argentina. Germany over Brazil, and Argentina over Costa Rica. Argentina takes the title.
  10. Henderson was on a local radio station a few days ago. He said he's progressing well, but no real timetable yet for his return. Also mentioned they try to look at things like that in a weekly window, so it's not something he's truly thought about with regards to a date way out in the future.
  11. A site I used when I was picking hikes for a recent trip: http://www.hikenewengland.com/ Lots of beautiful hikes. This one is one I didn't make it to, but desperately wanted to: http://www.hikenewengland.com/ArethusaFrankensteinCliffsNH090623.html
  12. More details! Are you city-only? Like to indulge in the outdoors? Hike? Camp? Just day trips?
  13. They don't need a 2-guard. They need a point guard. They have 5 guys to take 2-guard minutes: Knight, Giannis, Middleton, Delfino, and Mayo. If they could get rid of one, or two of them... then sure, bring Allen back.
  14. Well, it opened in 1989, a scant 6 months after the Bradley Center opened here in Milwaukee. Now, which would you have called state of the art at that point in time? Ha, good point. If I remember correctly, and keep in mind that I was only about six when it opened, I believe that the Jays were playing the Brewers (with Dave Stieb on the hill?) in the Skydome's first game. Seems to me that it was around August and the team played one day at Exhibition Stadium and the next night at the SkyDome. Now, I could be totally misremembering a fuzzy childhood memory, but without looking it up that's what I recall. 'Twas Jimmy Key on the hill, and it looks like they were at the Yankees the day before.
  15. Close to 100,000 were without power in the Waukesha to West Allis corridor. As a word of warning to all, for the future, when the power is out, stop lights become a 4-way stop. NOT a "Drive and lay on the horn at anyone who gets in my way" intersection.
  16. Run any semblance of an offense besides have Knight dribble for 20 seconds before firing up a shot or passing to somebody with almost no time left. That would've been a good start. Well how much of that had to do with the lack of offensive talent on the team? Hammond put together a team with no one that could create its own shot and traded for a shoot first PG. What did he expect? Jennings basically did the same thing while he was here so it wasn't new to Drew. I am not saying I am in love with Drew or anything I just think its crummy that he got run out of town like this and never really got the chance to coach a competent team. They shot the fewest corner 3's in the league, and gave up the highest % of 3's in the league. Both of those are because of how Drew let his team play offense and defense. They show a complete inability to coach in the modern NBA.
  17. Who you hit in front of has about 1% of things to do with how much you walk. Rickie Weeks has hit in front of great hitters his entire career and he's walked his entire career. Molitor was also 21 when he was in his first year in the majors. When Scooter was 21, he was putting together a .300/.334/.406 line in A+.

  19. Was at the game today, have a couple thoughts: Horrible baserunning by Ramirez on the sac fly that Davis hit to RF. Ramirez had no business not tagging up and being on 3rd with 1 out there. What a laughable 3 run 2 error play on a routine double play grounder to bury any real hope for a comeback for the Crew. What a horrible job of working the count and extending at bats by the Brewers early in the game. I think De La Rosa was at 42 pitches through 3.
  20. My gosh do I love tailgating. Great weather, good friends, good drinks, and some brats and italians soon to be on the grill.... Time to head to the ballpark!
  21. You forgot one former Brewer.... (or two, if you include their bench coach)
  22. Middleton is more of a 2/3, basically the same as Giannis & Delfino (and Mayo, I suppose) O'Bryant will probably be D-League fodder, I don't know if Inglis is coming over right away. I think O'Bryant might be a younger version of Adrien who is a free agent. Parker is not playing the 3. He is a power forward. Front court looks like a log jam, Sanders, Henson, Zaza, Parker, Ersan and Miroslav. Plus the two 2nd rounders.
  23. Everyone had Giannis going in the first round. He wasn't getting past Atlanta at 17/18.
  24. And I watched a parent get ejected from a little league game for swearing. Doesn't mean it will happen in MLB.
  25. Charlie bit you?
