  1. If you think that him hitting second was why he struggled the first half of last year, then I'm not sure what I can tell you. He's one of the 4 best hitters on the team, and hitting him 6th would be a waste by giving more AB's to... most likely, Carlos Gomez or Jean Segura. As bad as everyone thought he was last year, he finished with a 100 WRC+, exactly league average. Moving Gomez up to 2nd from 7th, means he gets ~100 more PA's as a result. Do you really want Carlos Gomez to pinch hit 100 times for Rickie Weeks?
  2. How quickly we forget 2008.... (or, y'know, last year and Aoki...) http://manginphotography.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/8S8H2617-467x575.jpg
  3. I think in past years they've said it would be single seats and SRO just so people don't get their hopes up, but on the on-sale day they've paid plenty of pairs available. I got a pair of Club level tickets last year that way. It depends on how many package holders buy "extras". They've stopped offering opening day extra's (at least for my 20 game pack). It mostly depends on how many season ticket holders get the opening day package.
  4. Seems to me all the negative comments made about the Bucks can be made about the Brewers. So if you really just don't like/enjoy the Bucks or the NBA that much, that's fine. But the Bucks are in the same boat as the Brewers, and have basically hade the ame level of success/failure as the Brewers over the last 20 years. The difference is, the Brewers are moving forward, they have a good GM, a good owner, and show some semblance of an idea of how to win in Milwaukee. The Bucks have had 1 playoff series win in 25 years, when the majority of the teams make the playoffs every year. They also traded away the single best player they've had, for a washed up 35 year old point guard. The Bucks just resigned a GM who went with Monta Ellis instead of Steph Curry, decided to drop down 10 spots in the draft to get Stephen Jackson, didn't get rid of Michael Redd for expiring deals (or move his expiring deal for anything of value), traded expiring deals to get Corey Magette. But I think Jennings is better than what he's given credit for. It's been 4 years, he still can't run the pick-n-roll or dribble into the lane with his right hand. I don't think he deserves any credit.

  6. Do not just go up there without having a job first. It's amazing how many friends I've known who have done things like that and never found a decent job after moving for a significant other. If things don't work out between the two of you (these things happen, to many, many, many couples) you don't want to be stuck both girlfriendless and unhappy in your job.
  7. Via Baseball Reference Braun's salary would go as follows 2013 $8,500,000 2014 $10,000,000 2015 $12,000,000 2016 $19,000,000 2017 $19,000,000 2018 $19,000,000 2019 $18,000,000 2020 $16,000,000 2021 *$20,000,000 $20M Mutual Option, $4M Buyout What reference doesn't have is this: $18M in salary ($4M each in 2016-18 and $3M each in 2019-20) deferred without interest, to be paid in equal installments each July 1 from 2022 to 2031
  8. Dunleavy had no shot at the 6th man last year because James Harden and Manu Ginobili are way better than him. Yes, this is true, but Dunleavy was way better than the 15th spot he finished in the voting. Anyway, great win in Phoenix. I wish I could stand to watch the team, but I cannot stand the way their guards play at all.
  9. He plays in Milwaukee, he has no shot. Same way Dunleavy had no shot at 6th man last year. Heck, Sanders probably won't get most improved player even.
  10. If you're going to use Murray Chass as your moral compass, I simply cannot take you seriously. To sum up those 3 articles: 1) Stan Musial is a racist, because someone told Murray Chass that something happened once. 2) If someone admitted to doing any illegal drug they shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame 3) Statistics. Damn you for using them when talking about who deserves to be in the Hall of Fame!
  11. Wave a magic wand and turn himself into a guard. Have the coach realize that Dunleavy should be playing minutes at the 2 and not just at the 3.
  12. Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd) and type: ipconfig /all and paste what you get here. Hopefully that'll tell if it is your laptop or your router. Also, what type of router do you have?
  13. No contraction would happen until the next CBA (whenever that is), and there would probably have to be two teams contracted and no willing cities to take them.
  14. Morris getting twice as many votes as Schilling is an even bigger travesty. Also, the BWAA is officially a joke.
  15. So, your wireless network is broadcasting (you can see it on the laptop?) but you cannot connect to it on your laptop? Can you plug in your laptop directly to the router and connect?
  16. The problem is you can only vote for 10 guys. When suddenly there is 16+ viable candidates, and there are a ton of writers who DON'T (and refuse) to fill up their ballot, there might be a logjam extending out... who knows how long. Maddux, Glavine, Thomas, Mussina, Kent next year. 2015 is Pedro, Randy Johnson, Smoltz and Sheffield. 2016... Griffey and Edmonds, Hoffman.
  17. The NBA is not expanding, the owners won't allow their precious TV money to get split up even more. If the Bucks go, the NBA will probably never be back in Milwaukee. I could see Mark A buying the team if he could get a stake in the arena, which sounds weird, but that's where the money would be, as much as in the team: In the venue. Renting to Marquette, etc.
  18. Gotta keep him. He's #1 pick good luck charm in the post-Skiles lottery.
  19. And if you ignore singles, what does it come out to be? Swings way into Week's favor, doesn't it? Ignoring the single best thing a hitter can do in any given at bat to make an argument... that's a new one. That is called selection bias, and it is not a good way to make an argument. If you can show your made up-non-home-run stat has anything to do with helping the team score more runs... feel free to show the math, but giving Segura 100 more PA than Weeks for the season is just a silly thing to do this year. The same way it was silly hit Gomez second based 50 spring training at bats where Gomez walked once in 2011.
  20. Actually, ground balls get turned into outs at a much higher rate than fly balls do. Your numbers, are, well, just completely wrong. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/groundballs-and-you/
  21. If you're talking ideal lineups, go peek at the book. http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2009/3/17/795946/optimizing-your-lineup-by
  22. He doesn't play defense well enough for Skiles to play him.
  23. Assuming we are not done with possible additions to the rotation, I could see the Brewers targeting Cliff Lee as long as Philly is willing to pay some of his salary. 3 years @ $75 million left on his deal, with a 4th year vesting option at $27.5 million if he pitches 200 innings in 2015 or 400 innings in 2014-2015. If the Phillies were to say offer $27.5 million to cover the possible vesting option, I would be very willing to part with some talent to get Lee. Going Lee & Gallardo #1-#2 obviously enhances the chances for the Brewers to make the postseason and win. Not sure what Philly would be interested in but they are getting old quick at 1B, 2B & SS. Scary thought... they still owe Howard 105 million over the next 4+ years.
  24. Lefthanded-One-Out-GuY.
  25. Wrong forum, and no way Philly does this deal. Did you not see what Tampa got for Price, or NY for Dickey?
