  1. The Curse of Brian Shouse.
  2. This is hilarious. Soriano, Washington, 2006: .277, .351, .560.... .911 Hamilton 2012: .285, .354, .577.... .930. One was 30 years old, the other 31. One averaged 155 games over the previous 6 years, the other, 111. I want no part of Hamilton.
  3. Can you elaborate?
  4. Hahahaha. You go, Sheff.
  5. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m708gsYeoV1qlzduwo1_500.gif
  6. My gosh. Go Pirates!
  7. Also, in their Cavernous OF, playing two awesome defensive OF's wouldn't exactly be such a bad thing.
  8. 9th Seed here we come! With a lame duck GM (and coach), the GM especially knowing if he misses the playoffs his job is done. Oh joy, oh joy. I can't wait to see how much of our future we trade away in hopes of garnering that 8th seed.
  9. Rogue's Octoberfest was really good, as is Staghorn by New Glarus. Southern Tier's was pretty tasty as well.
  10. They used 11 different starting pitchers last year. I don't see why having depth is a bad thing: It both improves the bullpen, and gives you more options if someone falters. They will most likely never have another season where they only use 6 starters like they did in 2011.
  11. The one that happened in the playoffs, over a week after the MVP votes were made?
  12. Heck no, they don't let them leave. They make thousands of dollars on beers and hot dogs during that 3.5 hours. Same thing happened to us in Boston, 2008. They waited 2 hours to cancel the game to make money on concessions, even though at 6, an hour before game time, it was clear the game wasn't going to be played.
  13. I laughed out loud when there was the "DID YOU SEE THAT?" Moment when they took down the first Zombie with body armor. I mean, yeah, really? That was an epiphany? Aim for where it's not wearing armor?
  14. The difference between Hamilton and Gomez/Schafer is a lot less than the difference between Narveson and Greinke. Go get the pitching.
  15. Detroit, up 2-0. Jeter: Broken ankle. Also: I cannot stand McCarver. And edit: Seriously? About 1/3rd of the pitches have been shown from behind the catcher. That view is so annoying.
  16. It was ugly but the US got the win. The field they were playing on was tiny, I hope that's why Johnson got his play out wide. Otherwise he really doesn't belong there.
  17. I'm pretty sure the college rule is, it is automatically a touchback if it bounces in the endzone without anyone touching it.
  18. That's been the rule in high school football for a number of years. As soon as the kickoff enters the end zone, it's an automatic touchback. I haven't seen the same thing in college football although they are doing all they can to avoid the head injuries that so often occur during kickoffs. Last season they eliminated wedges on kick returns and this season touchbacks now start at the 25 yard line. That rule has been around in college for years, you just almost never see guys not catch the kickoff.
  19. He swung at 59% of the pitches he saw. His O-swing% was 45%. He was really, really tough to walk. For a comparison, Carlos Gomez, the notorious free swinger, has a career high of 39% O-swing percentage.
  20. All 35,000 of them, since their owner wouldn't open up the upper deck for the playoffs.
  21. He may be a tool, but I flipped the radio on yesterday (540in Milwaukee) and it was Chris Berman doing the broadcast. I immediately switched it back off.
  22. First and 2nd nobody out, down three, and they are running on a full count.... with a guy who has 29 career SBs and 23 CS's. Dumb, Dusty, Dumb.
  23. He had the approach of a T-baller all season: Swing at anything and everything. It's no surprise pitchers stopped throwing him strikes and he struggled.
  24. I am not sure what this means, but I assume it was something in Cincinnati. Awesome.
  25. To expound on this: His first 46 IP this year, Yo's ERA was over 5. Spending 10% of the teams budget on a guy who pitches 4% of the innings is just... well... stupid. Sadly, it's something the Brewers have done in 4 of the last 5 years.
