Ted Williams won the triple crown twice, hit .400 once, and didn't win the MVP in any of those seasons. I will say, if I had a vote this season, my vote goes to Trout, whether Cabrera wins the triple crown or not.

A .300 OBP is never good. For example, long time, beg to platoon him LF Geoff Jenkins: .310 OBP vs LHP for his career. Fielder: .343 Votto: .394 Ichiro: .368 Again, can he play against some lefties? Sure... but would the team be better off with a RH OF (Mench-Type) to spell him against LHP? I'd say almost invariably yes.

You mean like Aoki's .300 OBP vs LHP this season? Despite what RRR says, he cannot hit lefties, and shouldn't hit lefties. Yeah, we need some sort of a righty to play out in RF.

He's actually struck out nearly a batter more per 9 innings this season. (7.1 last year, 8.0 this year). -
But you're in the RF bleachers, right? The entire lower level of the RF bleachers last season was taken over by the media.

Going into today, they needed 106 K's in 11 remaining games, or about 9.6 per game. Gonna be tough! -
They have him signed through next year only. After that he is a FA. It's not like he's a guy they drafted and goes through arby. He'll be gone, for more money than they should be paying him after next year (probably). Melvin was shocked they won the bidding, and there was a whole thread about how they hadn't really scouted him at all. I have no idea how Counsell is now suddenly getting credit for scouting him.

Votto will probably end up with ~475 PA's this season. If he get's hot, and his PA average goes up to 5ish a game the next 12 games... (putting him at 485 instead of 473 PA's) he might squeak out a crazy batting title win, even with a 0-17 added onto his line. -
Things that make me optimistic: Very quietly, Nyjer Morgan, the last month: .395 OBP, .950 OPS. Yes, it's aided by a huge BABIP... but he's looked a lot more like last year's Nyjer which can only help the team.

Yes, their priority goes like this: 1) Full season seat holders, based on seniority 2) Half-season seat holders, based on seniority 3) Fixed 20 game pack holders, based on seniority 4) Fan's Choice 20 game pack holders, based on seniority. So, regardless of how long you've been a 20 game pack holder, if someone bought a half-season or full-season's worth of tickets, then you get bumped farther away.
