  1. I'd rather have ARam not blow out a hamstring on a 50 degree day in St Louis.
  2. I suppose if you consider his .666 OPS in July as "Good" or "Decent" then yes, maybe you can say what you're saying. He basically had one good game in August, and beyond that was awful for four straight months. .739 April .593 May .422 June .666 July .804 August (.671 after Aug 3rd 3 HR game). He was never really good.
  3. When they cut to the CF cam while he is hitting, I feel like his eyes are looking into my soul.
  4. They have the worst ERA in the league, the hitting hasn't been the problem.
  5. My gosh I hate shopping for jeans. I am not a bigger person -- I have a 33" waist -- but I have muscles on my legs, and it is virtually impossible to find jeans I can walk in and not look like Frankenstein.
  6. I couldn't believe they didn't have all 3 hours of DP on their station. I'll just go back to downloading the podcasts from danpatrick.com and listen live when I can online.
  7. Always look on the bright side of life.... *whistle*
  8. You could always hop a bus from the stadium to the park, if need be, and save yourself a ton of dough. Or find a bar that shuttles near your hotel.
  9. You mean like, "HAAAAAY struck him out swinging!"? 3 times, even!
  10. As much as I love Uke's HR calls..... his K-calls might be even better.
  11. Cubs Win! Cubs Win! J Mather singled to center, B LaHair and G Soto scored. Blown save by Motte.
  12. It's amazingly frustrating that this team has the worst ERA in the league and they lost their two best starting pitching performances of the year.
  13. And the way our bullpen has been every run... ugh. ...might be needed.
  14. Our group of 8 was absolutely accosted by two guys after the game on Sunday. I seriously got in one of their faces and yelled at him to back off. He started accosting my 4 year old cousin about his bobblehead. I even told the cops who were standing 30 feet away and they just shook it off like it was nothing. This was not a "Hey, I'll buy your bobble for $5 if you don't want it!" It was him aggressively approaching us, and then arguing and telling us we should just sell them because there were so many of us. Not to mention the two kids someone had obviously put up to begging for extras we passed 200 feet later.
  15. You bunt with the pitcher up... because he's 50% the hitter of anyone else in the lineup.
  16. Braun, Ramirez and Hart doing what they couldn't do yesterday!
  17. There was a very interesting read about the Brewery decision by their owner, he basically said "We need to expand, we could either expand here, and pay way more for both shipping and space, or expand there and cut our costs. It was an easy decision."
  18. Lagunita's is making a Brewery in Chicago.
  19. You mean, had he ran to first, instead of arguing with the ump? Yeah, I agree....
  20. The reason they were in that situation at that time was because their strength of schedule was so front-loaded. Most of their games against the weaker teams in the league were in the last two months of the season. They had already lost games to Charlotte, Sacramento, two to Phoenix, New Orleans, Detroit by the end of Feb. They weren't good, and they aren't good now. The lunacy of playing for the 8th seed cost them a top 10 pick, and possibly another lottery pick from trading Bogut. If they decide to continue with their wonderful idea of playing two no defense, shoot a ton guards on the court together and not trade one of them. I can already see the "Monta Ellis signs Max deal with Bucks" coming. Michael Redd part II.
  21. Every other game against RHP. So, since 25% of pitchers are LHP, that means 8 of every 20 games, up from 4 of 20 right now. This would give Lucroy a bit more rest (which could only help him, IMO).
  22. I need to call TWC this week as my internet bill just went up from $39 a month to $56 a month. Which, I'm sorry, is way too damn much to pay for their crappy internet service. Because of my job I need the speed that cable provides, but their connection speed (especially upload speed) is spotty at best on my end.
  23. They were 14-20 at the end of Feb. 4 games better than the 4th worst record in the league, which was Toronto at 10-24. They were as close to that as they were to a playoff spot.
