  1. If you really think there is some magical stat, or magical idea that makes hitting Gomez second, playing Kotsay over Morgan when both were healthy, throwing Kameron Loe 2 of every 3 games, and playing Kotsay over Boggs in CF the wiser choice.... I'm not sure what to tell you.
  2. Wait, you're saying Yost made better baseball moves than Macha? Anyway... - Loe's arm is going to fall off (he's on pace for 90 appearances!) - Playing the worst option on the team in CF -- Hart and Boggs would both be better options, if Gomez is so much in need of a day off. - Giving a terrible hitter the second most ABs on the team, when you have had at least 2 better hitters in the lineup every game (Lucroy and whomever is in RF). - Starting an inferior option in RF when a clearly better option was available and not-hurt (Kotsay over Morgan)
  3. Well, you put out the worst defense in... well... maybe ever... that will happen.
  4. There was no reason for Kotsay to take 40 ABs away from Morgan, though. That's where the fault lies.
  5. I wear a 7 1/4, just ordered two hats about a month ago when New Era had a big sale. They were about a size 7. Maybe even 6 7/8th. My buddy who wears a 7 1/8th couldn't even get it on his head.... let alone mine. As a result of my horrible experience (they expected me to pay for the shipping to send the hats back) I'll never be purchasing a New Era hat if I can help it.
  6. A great article on the historical significance of April baseball:
  7. Hat sizing. I wear fitted hats. I just like them. I do not wear them with a flat brim and the sticker still on. I wear a 7 1/4 size hat. New Era, unbeknownst to me, their 7 1/4 hat is actually like a size 7. They aren't just tight. They are "I can't even fit this on my head" tight. I ordered mine online, because of a sale, and when I called them to complain, they said I was [language edited by mod], because I took (and tossed) the stickers off of the hats once I got them.
  8. Most places where you drive for a living have it written into their contracts/hiring policies if you get a DUI -- even not on the job -- you will lose your job. This is mostly due to insurance concerns of the employer. As for the team, I am sure they have the right to suspend the player for "conduct detrimental" or something along those lines.
  9. xFIP normalizes for defense and HR%. So, since the Brewers defense has been horrible this season, and he's given up way more than average HR/FB, his xFIP is lower than his ERA.
  10. http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfx.aspx?playerid=8173&position=P Look at the graphs. Comparing this year to last year side by side, it's tough to pick out any major differences. He's also been incredibly unlucky, his ERA is over 6, and his xFIP is right at 4.00. Those who say he was brutal the 2nd half of last year, his xfip's for July/Aug/Sept were 3.93, 2.99 and 3.44. A tad worse than his Apr-Jun, but not nearly as bad as his ERA was.
  11. Almonte won't be on the team anymore, so that point is moot. Hart will basically replace him going forward.
  12. Morgan wasn't taking starts away from Kotsay or Almonte, let alone Gomez before he got hurt. Sigh.
  13. Well, I will say that when buying Bucks tickets, you can pick out the exact seat that you want. It will even zoom in and show you what specific seats are available. I don't see any reason why a similar program couldn't be used when buying Brewers tickets.
  14. Loe has trouble vs LHers. If minorleaguesplits still existed you could easily see this in all the work he did in Nashville. That was also his 15th appearance this season in 26 games. I know, people hate "on pace for" stats, but that puts him on pace for 93 appearances this season. That is nuts.
  15. 40,000 or 10,000 or whatever people all using the same cel-tower with the same relatively limited bandwidth. That's why it's slow.

  17. PSN got hacked, big time, something like 77 million users information (including e-mail, phone numbers, CC numbers) were compromised.
  18. WAR is park adjusted offensively. Tulo's last two seasons were 5.7 and 6.4 WAR. Braun's best season (2009) was 4.9 thus far. wRAA (park adjusted Runs above average -- which is based on wOBA) last two seasons for Tulo: 33.4, 37.1 Braun: 44.8, 32.4 His bat is great, but he's playing a position (poorly) where there are a lot of great bats. Tulo is playing a position (extremely well) where there are no good bats.
  19. Alright... another extra innings game. This has to be some kind of April record.
  20. You have to have a 1B who can get back to the bag quickly as well. Prince just can't do that.
  21. Named by who? A couple of bloggers who worship UZR? Pretty sure a Brewers relief pitcher was a hell of a lot worse last year than any SS in all of baseball. You asked....Lets start with Rob Neyer We can follow that up with Joe Posnanski and how about the guys over at upconfurtherreview or maybe you're a Keith Law fan? Or maybe Posnanski again? Or maybe that his defense, amongst SS's got the lowest rating on the fans scouting reports?
  22. That is not a mullet... that is some Soul Glow http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_XIG98kNoit0/TE2-BCXBocI/AAAAAAAAGU4/iTj7dxcMabU/s1600/sexual-chocolate.jpg
