  1. I agree Danzig. Really, all he has done for 2 years is rake. He was blocked in FLA and now is blocked in Milwaukee. If the guy were 28 instead of 32, people would be going crazy about him. Shame he missed so much time with his back injury.
  2. Clearly, you guys need to check out the name of the year.
  3. Doug Melvin was on WSSP on St Patty's day at about 8pm or so. He made it sound as though Dillon was fighting for a spot on the roster with Nunez (who Doug said was a great defensive guy), Gwynn and Kapler, and maybe even a 13th pitcher. I wish the radio guys would've pursued that more, because I can't see them carrying 2 backup defense-minded infielders. Doug said, (and I'm paraphrasing), that "Dillon is a great guy with the bat, but not quite as strong as Nunez or the outfielders on defense. We may need him as a pinch hitter though."
  4. My friend, who got a 20 game pack w/ me again this year, had them lose his ticket order, and since we want to sit together, our seats are now all over from game to game, instead of close to behind home plate like they would've been as we renewed within the first week of them being available.
  5. To be honest, health people say eating 3 meals a day leads to your body retaining more fat than if you eat 6-7 smaller meals. At least, thats what I keep being lectured. So, maybe you're lucky in that regard.
  6. I can't see the team carrying 3 backup outfielders. So, I think the real battle is between Gwynn and Kapler.
  7. Back in middle school, the "cool thing" for girls to do was to go up to guys and try to kick them in the junk. A friend of mine got this treatment and immediately vomited all over the girls shirt. He got sent home and suspended. She wasn't punished.
  8. I like to add a pinch of salt to mine, or salt the glass... if you're so inclined. I do prefer using Cointreau instead of normal triple sec as well.
  9. BABIP (batting average for balls in play) for pitchers is usually very close to the same across the board (about .300), with the exception being very strong groundball pitchers, theirs will be a bit lower. Although, one of the guys over at THT agrees with you. Yes, the pitchers effect BABIP, but when most pitchers keep it around the same level for their career, and Capuano had a huge spike in his last year (from about average .295 for his career, to .339 last year), so its probable that he will regress back towards his personal mean.
  10. Maybe I missed these... Monty Python: Life of Brian; The Holy Grail; etc Spaceballs Blazing Saddles The Producers Young Frankenstein Hear no Evil, See no Evil Silver Streak National Lampoon's Vacation Van Wilder Pink Panther (the original...) 11. BBC (North and Farwell) has .25 wings on Thursdays, as well as Trivia. I've been going for quite awhile, and its always a good time.
  12. When the drop off from our #5 starter to our #8 starter isn't that much, but the drop off from #8 to #9 is huge (Zack Jackson, maybe?), keeping those top 8 guys has to be a priority. This year, our depth in the bullpen and in the rotation is a strong point. Why weaken it just to have the best 5 starters, when odds are we'll need at least 7 of them over the course of the season.
  13. The reason the Brewers won't be doing this, is our #4 and #5 guys are *above* average, especially for thier spot in the rotation.
  14. So, if they just bump Prince, what does that show to Hart? Weeks? Braun? Villanueva? Gallardo? Parra?
  15. Clearly.... Something like that happened.
  16. Andruw Jones? You do realize he hit .200 last year in his contract year and had by far the worst season of his career?
  17. As long as you're not drinking Bud Light... its okay
  18. If you mean the band, I agree completely. Iron & Wine do a much better version of "Such Great Heights" My list: Reality TV Napoleon Dynomite - I've now watched it 5 times. It just makes me fall asleep. Steve Carell - British office is way better, 40 year old virgin he was over shadowed by the guy from Knocked up... his best role? In Anchorman, imo. 16 Candles Anything New York or Boston & Sports related Lost. I've never gotten it. Urinals. I mean, yes, its nice to be able to pee standing up, but when the guy next to you is all but touching you because places always put them too close together... it sucks. I try to explain this to my female friends by saying, "Imagine if your bathrooms didn't have stalls. Just toilets. No walls between them."
  19. He had heart surgery, and he's back in 10 days? Holy. Cripes. Amazing.
  20. The big question is, what do you plan to use the phone for? Regular usage in your house? Long distance calls? Work? Trips? Emergency use only? Honestly, ask if they have a trial period, because I have friends who loved a company, changed apartments, and suddenly had no reception from their phone.
  21. There Brewerfan crew has much to discuss, And arguments rage, and sometimes cause fuss, But there is one decree, Upon which all agree, The Cubs stink.
  22. 2002-2004, he saved 152 games, and blew 6 saves. 55/0 in 2003 alone. I think his arm is healthy, he won't need to wear down, as there are lots of other bullpen options, no need for him to pitch 4 out of 5 games or anything drastic like that.
  23. Go see a doctor, it could be something serious, try to explain in detail specifically what happens to them, and don't let them push you out the door until you get a satisfactory answer. My sister had a pinched nerve in her neck and it took 5 doctors appointments for them to even consider that.
  24. I don't get this sentiment, can you expand on it? I see people saying it quite often. We're gonna have 5 guys on the bench, right now thats filled by Counsell, Dillon, Gross, backup catcher and probably Gwynn. I guess I don't consider that weak. Two solid bats (Gross/Dillon) and two glove guys, plus a catcher. I'd give Doug an A for the off season. The 1 year deals are huge for the 'crew, leaves them flexible next year, and they can hope someone else steps up and is ready to close next year, whether its Turnbow, Riske, Mota or whomever else, once Gange walks and gives the team 2 more draft picks. As for the questionable bullpen, it has to be better than last years. Aquino, Francisco Cordero, Elmer Dessens, Brian Shouse, Derrick Turnbow, Carlos Villanueva, Matt Wise. The fact is, Aquino, Spurling, and Dessens, McClung, and Cappellan threw about 100 innings last year.... I'd much rather have the 'pen we have now than watching those 5 go out there. Having those guys led to the trade for Linebrink.
