  1. Using our worst contract or two as proof of some sort of front office incompetency is completely pointless. Let's see some analysis that shows how the 2-3 worst FA contracts on the Brewers' books are worse than their competitors. I seem to recall when the Omar Narvaez trade was widely considered to be a disaster... Nobody here is suggesting that the JBJ contract doesn't look like a mistake right now, but every team has a few contracts they regret and all things considered being stuck with an expensive Keon Broxton isn't the worst thing in the world...
  2. It’s not as bad as it looks. CF isn’t the worst spot to have a guy with a bad slash line. And JBJ has made up half of his negative offensive value with his glove. So he’s not even in the bottom-50 in bWAR. Shaw actually has been worse than JBJ and Hiura is three times worse. I get the math that the front office did—run prevention in CF is worth more than whatever incremental gain you would get from replacing JBJ with a better bat. And with Cain injured I’m glad we have the guy. He’s never been any better than an average hitter but if he could just return to just being slightly below average that would suffice
  3. This one I just chalk up to Durant going into beast mode. The Bucks played well overall, same issues as usual of course but we know what this team is and isn’t.
  4. The Bucks might have gotten away with their awful offense but Durant simply isn’t going to lose this game.
  5. Hard to find anything to complain about after that half. Keep it going...
  6. Harden does not look anywhere near 100%...
  7. Yes but I've never had my injured hamstring pumped full of cortisone. As for the next series, IF we get there, I want Philly to avenge 2001.
  8. The A’s would be a bust in Vegas. Ask any local in Vegas what they think about the Raiders. The Golden Knights are their team — an expansion team that was theirs and nobody else’s. As True Blue says, the Raiders will succeed because they are the Raiders, they probably won’t even put “Las Vegas” on their jerseys. The locals who mostly work in the tourism industry think of the Raiders and their fans as outsiders. Where does that leave an MLB relocation? It can’t be sustained on tourism, who is going to travel to Vegas for a Tuesday evening MLB game? Oakland A’s fans will eventually switch over and be Giants fans. So that leaves a situation similar to Phoenix which is a mediocre MLB city at best with lukewarm fan interest for the local team. Since the Oakland A’s have a small fanbase and a crappy stadium it will pencil out for the owners. They will make money. But is it good for MLB as a sport? Absolutely not. I hope they are just posturing but it does appear the Oakland stadium deal is basically dead.
  9. In MLB, there's no better way to move up in the standings than timing a hot streak with an easy schedule. And there's no worse missed opportunity than losing repeatedly to bad teams. The Brewers have certainly been on both sides of that coin but in recent years they seem to take care of business against the Reds/Pirates more often than not.
  10. I agree. The third quarter of game 4 was a good omen. They smelled blood and went for it. Any title-contending NBA team would be expected to do the same, but it was still nice to see. Momentum is huge in the NBA. I mostly worry about the referees in a road game, they seemed treat Durant differently in Brooklyn vs. Milwaukee.
  11. It was fascinating to see how the equation changed when Kyrie was out of the game. Everyone in the NBA playoffs has one superstar these days and it doesn’t get you very far. PJ was obviously fantastic defending KD but it just makes it so much easier when you can concentrate your defense on stopping one guy and making the rest of the team beat you.
  12. Does pitching against the Pirates really count as 3 days in a row? More like 3 bullpen sessions in a row...
  13. Now https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/07005A96C9B12688?brand=bucks&wt.mc_id=NBA_TEAM_MIL_SINGLE_GAME_TIX_GM41&utm_source=NBA.com&utm_medium=client&utm_campaign=NBA_TEAM_MIL&utm_content=SINGLE_GAME_TIX_GM41&camefrom=NBABUCKS_email&mkt_tok=MTY3LUVJVC0zNzAAAAF9pnlDtMNLYyzpcl8H7LFQRbZbntDQSaUQq5ZdQm9pMxZgRf2NlQd1MFXMP6PElXHjRQjL0hlqtPfVa1XtweNvQpFxV6jssPc4VlBIJgyw0wDX3Q Fantastic, that was much easier than trying to get NLCS tickets a few years ago...
  14. When do game 6 tickets go on sale??? I happen to be in Milwaukee on Thursday night...
  15. Like I said last week, gotta lose 2 to win in six... Seriously though, if injury luck is what it takes, I’ll take it. Gotta buckle down and take game 5 of the Nets are short handed.
  16. I have zero expectations for today so hopefully they prove me wrong and make it a competitive game.
  17. This Crowe guy is unwatchable. I’m going to do something else and comeback when someone who takes less than a minute between pitches is in.
  18. That was godawful but a win is a win, especially in a must-win game. They made enough plays...barely, and gave themselves a chance to get back in the series. I plan to block out this one from my memory.
  19. This is such a strange game.
  20. We’re winning, we must be good, right??????
  21. I’d like to see Damian Lillard and Giannis on the same team. Portland seems like it would be a good fit for Giannis.
  22. Yeah the Nets have too many weapons. I kind of feel better about it because no amount of coaching or whatever is going to change the result of this series.
  23. Middleton...
  24. There’s a decent chance that Keston has played his last game for the Milwaukee Brewers. I bet we flip him for a bullpen arm at the deadline.
