  1. I just don't understand why you wouldn't just invest in stocks when you have so many corporations making absurd amounts of money right now. Amazon is at $3100 right now. It was $1900 a year ago, $1500 the year before that, $1200 the year before that, etc. etc. It's as close to guaranteed profit as you can get.
  2. That might be the answer. Anybody use NORDVPN or one of those other IP Address "scramblers"? Is that less legal than using the sites that pirate/bootleg a feed? It was noted earlier in this thread that MLB.tv is pretty good at blocking VPNs. Not sure if these other scramblers work. As much as I talk up bootlegged streams I actually pay for MLB.tv since I'm out-of-market for the Brewers. But if I want to watch my local MLB team I have to do that on a bootlegged feed, even though I'm paying for MLB.tv. So absurd.
  3. The US Dollar is going to drop because the US Treasury is like printer go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and prints money. If the last budget bill is any indication of what is ahead for the dollar it is going to drop some more. That was the policy of the current administration. There is a new one taking over in two weeks. We don't know what the new administration will do yet. It's possible that all future stimulus will be blocked by Congress.
  4. Is it legal to type a URL in your web browser and click 'play'? Edit: I can think of some circumstances where the answer would be 'no'. But my main point is that when content providers overly restrict content, a black market will naturally set up. And the black market for sports streaming is alive and well. Any crackdown would certainly target the websites and not the users.
  5. Bitcoin is classic speculation in action. It behaves like a more volatile form of gold or similar commodities. The anti-correlation with the US dollar index is pretty obvious--BTC bottomed out on 3/16/2020, DXY peaked on 3/20/2020. Will the US dollar keep dropping in 2021? Probably, but not as much as 2020. And then you throw in the randomness of BTC speculation???
  6. I use apple devices with an ad blocker and have never had an issue. Been using the same site for at least 5 years now.
  7. I'm just glad the new "AmFam Clam" nickname is catching on :)
  8. There's way more to diversifying an organization than hiring POC coaches and hoping things work out. They have to invest in mentoring and training. Otherwise there will never be enough qualified candidates. I know the NFL has some initiatives in that vein which is a good thing.
  9. I live in Illinois too and 15 of their 16 games have been shown in the Chicago area at least. All but week two against the Lions were available. I watched that on an outdoor screen at Buffalo Wild Wings for the price of a couple beers and some wings. In the last several years, typically no more than 3 or 4 Packer games were not shown in Chicago market. I may be old school but the joy is in the journey. Losses are going to happen. It's part of the ebb and flow of a season. But the 3 1/2 hours of a game with it's ebbs and flows is far superior to watching highlights. It irritates me that there's a satellite delay and sometimes my phone lets me know a score happened before I see it. Yesterday's Packer game wasn't televised in my market...I was kind of surprised, but whatever, I had it in HD on my phone for free in 30 seconds with a bootleg stream. And my wife was happy because she could use the TV during the game.
  10. I'm hoping to build a detached ADU at some point since I have a huge 1970s-era carport that I would like to downsize. Seattle recently passed some nice legislation to make the process easier, if you pick a pre-approved design you can skip most of the permitting. I think it's a very smart way to address housing shortages without tearing up neighborhoods of single-family homes. A few companies have come up with some really cool pre-fab concepts for DADUs which are basically giant IKEA furniture that a motivated DIY person like myself can self-assemble. e.g. https://urbancottageseattle.com/shell-kits/
  11. The whole point of the current system is to deny the non-power 5 schools the chance to
  12. [sarcasm]It was part of the Supermax agreement, he gets 10 minutes per game now.[/sarcasm]
  13. They "fixed" it...
  14. That's me too until I actually sit down and watch. After an inning or two I'm looking for something else to do. By the time the kids are in bed and I have time for myself the Brewers are usually in the 6th or 7th inning so I check the score to see if it's worth turning on. Most times I do but rarely do I pay close attention to it. Maybe it's 3TO baseball, maybe it's just being an adult and having other things to do but a baseball game on TV doesn't hold my attention like it used to. I love day games for this reason. I usually would put it on my second computer screen while I'm working. I was outraged when the Brewers played almost no day games in 2020. Night games usually start at 5 PM west coast time so pre-COVID I would put the game on my headphones while riding the bus home from work and if the game was interesting I would have it on during my evening run. Might catch the 8th or 9th inning on TV if it was a close game. When the Brewers turned into a full 3TO team in 2020 it got boring really fast. If the opposition had a good pitcher on the mound there was just no chance of them doing anything offensively.
  15. This is wrong, you get the side of ranch dressing at Culver's for the cheese curds and the side of tartar sauce for the fries. Seriously.
  16. I've always looked at a vacation home as similar to owning a boat--the more friends of mine that buy vacation homes and boats, the better. But personally, heck no. I do like renting other people's AirBNBs. However, the real advantage is to be able to bring your pets along and lately it seems like hotels are more pet friendly than vacation homes are. Do people actually rent AirBNBs in Vegas??? Hotels are so cheap there. I would be terrified of renting my house there given how people party in Vegas.
  17. Yep, who knows how good this team would have actually been under normal circumstances but it's good to know that a mediocre Big Ten team can still steamroll a mediocre ACC team.
  18. WF spoon fed us this game.
  19. Who needs an offense when we have the WF quarterback throwing balls at our defense?
  20. I worked at Culver's in high school, I don't know how I didn't gain weight when all the food was 50% off. I always go to Kopp's when I visit WI now since Culver's are all over the place. The last time I went to Culver's was in Arizona. And Kopp's has better frozen custard.
  21. This did not age well
  22. Bravo on the condiment pun. They're trying to mustard a comeback here.
  23. Yeah they don't want to be here. I'm done.
  24. Looks like the Badgers are going to have to play ketchup to win today.
  25. Why is there a Wisconsin football game at 9 AM on a Wednesday?
