  1. Unfortunately the Cardinals are showing why they are in first place.
  2. Nobody on the Brewers can put down a bunt like that.
  3. Appreciate the post 'stache and I think you make a good case for Yelich. It certainly shows that Yelich had a good shot at winning MVP if he played the rest of September and got the Brewers in the playoffs. The unfortunately reality is that he won't be here for the next few weeks and we were not in playoff position when he went down. If market size mattered then Baez would be the defending MVP.
  4. The Brewers erased a 5-game deficit in 6 days. This isn’t the NBA. The 6, 7, and 8 seeds miss the playoffs. 4 and 5 play the WC game.
  5. The Mets getting hot worries me more than any of the other WC2 contenders. They are a streaky team and have not played to their potential.
  6. This would be a nice one to get to keep the momentum post-Yelich. Could be tied for WC2 at the end of the night!
  7. Right when I had un-given up for the third time...
  8. I know most Cubs fans share the view that they are toast. But the reality that I observed last night was Cubs prospects carrying them to an easy victory...plus they still have a 2-game buffer over everyone else. They wouldn't be the first team to stumble into the playoffs. Not saying they will, but somebody has to win some games and make up the gap. Would love to get Maddon out of the division, that would just be extra great.
  9. Doesn't matter, this is an ownership issue.
  10. That row of Brewers fans is bringing more energy than the entire Marlins fanbase. Did the Brewers just bunt??? Edit: and it worked, we got a run!!!
  11. It's hard to call the current product a major league baseball team. The new owners immediately embraced a tanking strategy (with plenty of doublespeak to the media) which was the absolute worst move when the biggest issue with the fans was a lack of trust due to previous tanking/firesales/lies.
  12. IMO the Marlins have some of the smartest fans in MLB. One of the few fanbases that refuses to fall for repeated BS from ownership. Tons of baseball fans in Miami but smart enough not to throw money at Loria and now Jeter.
  13. Nice way to start the year against the double doinkers. Certainly raises my hopes this year although hopefully not prematurely.
  14. Tonight is a close battle between MLB and NFL to see which is more boring...pass interference video replay vs. 15-man bullpen home run derby.
  15. I'm fairly sure the Bears will win but am fully prepared to LOL if they find a way to lose. If Wisconsin goes 1-1 against Illinois tonight I'll be happy.
  16. The reality of MLB these days is that you take your chances with HR derby in this situation. It's incredibly boring/frustrating to watch.
  17. Out of all that, Pina would have been my choice. Or just hand a bat to one of Attanasio's kids or a random fan in the stands.
  18. There's plenty of sloppy play in weeks 1-2 of the NFL, even with a full preseason. South Florida was supposed to compete in this game, instead Wisconsin is making them look like an FCS team.
  19. Yes you can but your current car sits unused 95% of the time. So if you have the ability to rent your driverless car to others when you are not using it it would be to your advantage.
  20. Must win games are not ideal...the best teams in the league tend to avoid having any prior to October. The Orioles already had one this year. I see this matchup as a "better start winning some games soon and tonight would be an ideal time to start" game.
  21. There will be cleaning/refueling yards. The bigger ones will be in the suburbs because most of the cars will end up there at night after taking people home from work. Old shopping malls or something. But the key is that the total # of cars needed will only be a small fraction of the number out there now...right now cars sit around unused most of the time. Autonomous cars will constantly be moving.Even at peak commute time every city has hundreds of thousands of parked cars that can be eliminated. Nobody will be forced to do so. People in rural areas will probably still own cars. But imagine a cheaper, autonomous version of Uber/Lyft...like an unlimited monthly subscription. People who live in cities would be all over that. And if you travel frequently you would no longer need to rent a car at the airport.
  22. To me the real advantage to autonomous cars is that there will be no parking. Or car ownership. (Except as a unessential luxury item.) I look forward to the day when I can expand my yard to where my driveway and carport are currently located. If I need a car I can order one on an app. All of the open space on the side of streets that is currently used for parking will probably be replaced with bike lanes, which will be populated with people riding e-bikes and e-scooters.
  23. If Luck does un-retire I sure hope it is for the Patriots. That would be hilarious.
  24. It seemed to come out of nowhere but clearly he tried to play this year and wasn’t feeling it. And with the threat of CTE and $100 million in his pocket there is plenty of incentive to get out. The fans...whatever, frustration in the moment I’m sure. The untimely exit just further proves that football legacy was the last thing on Luck’s mind. Good for him. Makes you wonder if it will be a one-off or if other QBs will hightail it out of the NFL after a couple years with a decent salary. Very different situation here than past early retirements...
