  1. 2-0 but not exactly impressive victories. Huge game for Taylor though. Lots of upside to this team despite the mistakes.
  2. There's another one that Broxton would have caught.
  3. Or maybe he's just waiting for that to happen...
  4. Lucky throw--run scores 9/10 times on that one.
  5. Followed by a date with the Dodgers if they win... Nothing wrong with playing underdog. They've been doing it all year.
  6. Very smart decision to go there...even if the odds were less than 50/50 of making it.
  7. 3 Wash (2-1) 3 @ Cinci (2-1) 3 @ Chubs (1-2) 3 Pitt (2-1) 3 @ Miami (2-1) 3 @Pitt (0-3) 4 Chubs (2-2) 3 Cinci (2-1) 3 @ StL (2-1) 15-13, finishing 5 games behind the Cubs. I think 16 gets us at least a game #163 with the Marlins or Rockies so hopefully they can squeeze another win in there.
  8. The Rockies have an increasingly high probability of missing the playoffs. The Cubs are much less likely to falter given their talent and experience. The Marlins are also a dangerous dark horse, they are above .500 now and are starting to eat into the Brewers' playoff odds.
  9. Could have but didn't...because the Dodgers have a better bullpen. The Yankees beat the 2001 Seattle Mariners, so I guess anything could happen this weekend.
  10. What a garbage call. File that one away for the next time the "umps are biased against the Brewers" claim comes up. And...3-1. Damn.
  11. The Dodgers' walkoff call last night: "It's not a question of if, but when and who..." Winning 2/3 reduces their winning percentage. It's insane. Hopefully the Brewers can steal one game, but the Dodgers have so much depth that even "dialing it back" wouldn't help. Those Rockies and Giants series are totally winnable though. Hopefully the bats keep it up.
  12. I think the umpires have actually gotten better since they started getting feedback maybe 10 (?) years ago. The difference is having the strike zone in the corner of the TV screen. If it wasn't for that, I would have no idea if most of these borderline pitches are balls or strikes. It is simply impossible for an umpire to get those right. I still favor a challenge system rather than a robotic strike zone.
  13. Has our outfield defense been this terrible the entire year? That was two poor plays on back to back pitches.
