  1. Hoping they blow the Reds out tonight. I can't stand another close game.
  2. That was definitely one of the worst Brewers losses ever. Of course the division was a long shot...this whole season really...but still.
  3. It's not a "must-win" but the Brewers need 3/4 in this series to keep their slim divisional hopes alive. The wild card chase depends on what the Rockies and Cardinals do, the Brewers could lose all 4 games and still be 2 or 3 out of the WC.
  4. That was a meatball... Need more offense I guess.
  5. Playoff odds on fivethirtyeight have jumped to 40%. I believe that's a season high. Just keep winning and good things happen.
  6. I've been to 10 active ballparks...Safeco is my favorite right now (slightly biased...). It's not number one at anything (besides friendliest staff) but it consistently checks all the boxes for food, price, views, atmosphere near the stadium, and transportation. Worst is whatever the White Sox are calling their stadium these days.
  7. Can't give this team enough credit for continuing to win ballgames. Wish they could get some help one of these nights...
  8. Haha, not many conspiracy theorists on here...I suspect management has at least some say on general lineup philosophy, even if they are not filling out the lineup card. Meanwhile--big opportunity here to open up a lead.
  9. There's nothing I didn't like, just nothing that stood out about it to me either. It deserves credit for the setting, it's a great view. I guess it's just that without the view, it's just a ballpark. And if we're factoring in the setting in general, the area and atmosphere around the park was pretty dead when we went. No ill will towards the park, I don't dislike it, just other parks I'd put above it on my list. I was just curious as I've always wanted to road trip it out that way someday. PNC is one of my favorite ballparks. It has a small, intimate feel, friendly staff, good food, and of course the view is the best in baseball. There isn't much going around directly outside the park but it's nice to walk around the outfield and across the bridge.
  10. How much say does Counsell have in lineup decisions?
  11. This looks like literally the exact same team as last year, the year before, etc.
  12. The 2016 team was unwatchable. I only watched one game the entire year. Completely different story this year.
  13. The Brewers really need another win tonight. Don't want to be 4 gb in the division again.
  14. It only takes one of the Cubs or Rockies to drop a few games in a row and then the door is wide open. Brewers 8-8 Cubs 8-8 Cardinals 8-8 Rockies 5-10 Or... Brewers 9-7 Cardinals 9-7 Rockies 9-7 Cubs 6-10 If the Rockies and Cubs both keep winning games, it's over. But history suggests one or both will falter.
  15. Interesting stuff, thanks for the info hawing. A successful weekend should further increase the likelihood that Milwaukee will be tabbed for relocated games in the future. I wish I could get $10 tickets when I'm in town during the Cubs series next weekend, but the cheapest terrace seats are going for $50 on Stubhub. That's higher than some of the 2011 playoff games!
  16. Lets see if we can draw 4 walks in an inning without scoring a run. Edit: never mind Perez is up, not happening
  17. Right down main street, but the one two pitches earlier was a ball called a strike.
  18. Thank god Selig isn't the commish anymore.
  19. Unfortunately they didn't get any help in the standings tonight, but the alternative of losing a game to everyone would have been disastrous. Back at it tomorrow.
  20. Sarcasm yes, but there's some truth to that. It's just a matter of which less-than-desirable option you want to go with.
  21. Low risk, high reward move. Anderson is the perfect guy for the job. He hasn't thrown 100 pitches since June and only had 67 last time out. He's thrown almost 900 pitches less than Jimmy Nelson this year (partially thanks to the injury). We're starting to get close to must-win territory so worrying about the Cubs series can wait.
  22. Agree that the division is looking like the best path, but as we know a 4-game lead lead against a single team can disappear quickly. A Nationals/Cardinals rematch would be a fun one. Knowing history, I would be tempted to take the Cardinals in that series.
