  1. There really isn't any excuse for not selling out playoff games. Even the lowly Florida Marlins drew over 60,000 per game to the NLDS in 2003.
  2. Latest ticket update There are still over 5,000 unsold tickets for Tuesday and over 15,000 unsold tickets for Wednesday. Pathetic.
  3. It is clearly stated on signs in the parking lot that the lots close one hour after the game. However, this is the first time I have ever heard of it being enforced. We all know there are many people that stay 2-3 hours after the game. I agree that it is a playoff thing, but there does not seem to be any good reason to clear out. It's not even like they have to clean the parking lot immediately, the next home game is at least 5 and probably 7 or 10 days away.
  4. Most pitching moves leave room for debate, but today there wasn't. After Ziegler walked Betancourt, everyone knew he was in big trouble. At that point the D'backs should have gotten someone throwing and sent out the pitching coach to calm him down. After Lucroy's bunt, that should have been the end of him, or at least after he walked Kotsay if they want to set up the double play. But then they let him face Hart, which of course backfired immediately. But even then, Gibson had an escape since the lefty Morgan was now up. But unbelievably, the D'backs didn't even try to slow down the game, so Morgan's hit sent the crowd into an even bigger frenzy. And since he let the first 5 guys he faced on base, why not leave him in for Braun as well? This was essentially a must-win for the D'backs, so they should have been even quicker than usual to pull the trigger. It was the worst playoff managing I have ever seen, and furthermore, it was some of the worst managing that I saw all year against the Brewers. Even Ned Yost wouldn't have allowed that to happen. Despite all that, it's a completely different series now when you go on the road. And the elimination games are the hardest to win. The Brewers have never been on this side of an elimination game, ever. So this is new for all of us.
  5. I think that moment may have been louder, but the quick Hart/Morgan/Braun hits made for a more sustained sequence this time. Hopefully there will be another moment later in the postseason that is indisputably the loudest...
  6. Also, what is Gibson thinking? First, Ziegler was clearly rattled after the balk, but he didn't have help ready in the bullpen? Then, he must have been the only one in the ballpark that didn't see the Lucroy squeeze coming. Do they not have scouting reports? Walking Kotsay basically speaks for itself. But even after that, he could have at least brought in a new righty to face Hart. But no, and then Morgan gets another hit. And they pitch right at Braun for the 100th time. Unreal.
  7. I'll be curious to hear from those at the game, but that appeared to be the loudest/craziest that Miller Park has ever been.
  8. Whole new ballgame now. But we have our big hitters coming up again. We knew the D'Backs had some pop so I can't really criticize the decision to start Greinke today. You just can't throw a fastball down the middle to Upton on 3-1, it doesn't matter how many days of rest you had.
  9. Weeks purposely planted with his right foot on that catch attempt, which caused him to miss it. Fortunately it didn't cost us.

  11. For what it's worth, the couple next to us in 2008 Game 3 were completely uninterested. I believe they left after the 4th inning or so. I don't know how or why people like that make it to the game, but considering the energy level you hope that they can win over a few new fans.
  12. Just to state how important this win was, the team that wins game one of the NLDS is 29-3 in taking the series. Twenty-nine and three.
  13. Pitching to him isn't a bad decision. Having Kennedy at 110 pitches do so is Agreed. Especially since they supposedly have one of the best bullpens in the NL.
  14. This isn't rocket science. What is Gibson thinking??? You don't pitch to Fielder there. The Brewers will sweep if he continues to do it.
  15. You take anything you can get with Kennedy on the mound. But once again Braun and Fielder led the way. We need the bottom of the order to contribute also.
  16. Very happy with the way things are going so far. Yo is at his best. I think the offense will break through soon, but for now it is a classic ace vs. ace pitchers duel.
  17. Never been this nervous for a Brewers game before. Do I really have to wait 30 more minutes???? Start the game already!!!!!!!!
  18. Completely different attitude compared to 2008. In '08 I was just happy to be in the postseason. Wasn't nervous at all. This year--I'm extremely nervous. Didn't sleep well last night and have been uneasy all day. I just want the game to start. I really hope the Brewers take an early lead to calm me down.
  19. I figured we can start a topic to discuss the other LDS series. Tampa vs. Texas Detroit vs. New York St. Louis vs. Philly So far it is looking good for the Rays, up 6-0 in the 4th.
  20. Lots of good comments here! I thought it was also funny how they portrayed their attempts to contact Bartman. They all acted like they were stalking a celebrity--their quest to find Bartman bordered on an obsession, fueled by the pressure to get the big interview. Wayne Drehs finally finds him and stalks him out, leading up to this innocent scene where he kindly asks for an interview, gets turned down, and sits there shell-shocked while Bartman leaves. Notice how they never say whether Bartman's "legal team" ever contacts the filmmakers. They just drop the subject. My interpretation is that there was definitely additional contact, but Bartman absolutely refused to talk no matter how much money they offered. Consequently, the filmmakers become ever more enthralled with their mystery subject, as they are amazed that he could turn down all that money and continue his life. So the 15-minute segment where the interview was supposed to go was replaced by more love and praise for Bartman from his admirers...he's so classy for having moved on, etc. etc. Bartman is really the only one who got what he wanted from this, it appears that he has resumed living a regular life. He probably changed his appearance and maybe his name, and it was nice of Drehs to not describe on camera what he looks like now. All the interviews from his baseball team suggest that he is a really nice guy and just loves the game of baseball. And it appears he has been largely successful, since the story has gone away except for when these documentaries pop up. It does make the city of Chicago and sports culture as a whole look really bad, which I thought was a very accurate representation. Especially the notion that fans couldn't possibly blame their "beloved Cubs" for collapsing. While Buckner and Bartman are the two most obvious examples of scapegoating, it happens on a smaller scale all the time in the sporting world. Milwaukee Brewers fans have been known to lash out at a few select players over the years, booing them specifically even when the whole team was in the midst of collapse. So hopefully we all can just be more civil and let it go when bad things inevitably happen.
  21. It's everywhere now: 1:07 PM Saturday 3:37 PM Sunday
  22. Well if that's the case, then all our speculation is wrong. 12:30 makes much more sense than any of the other options.
  23. I just considered a few news articles about it and the discussion in this thread. I'm adding the 9:30 PM time for Saturday above since that is a higher possibility than I previously thought. I'm sure the Brewers are fighting for an afternoon game. But there is also the third possibility that they change the actual time slots due to the other issues in the schedule such as the football game in Philly. A 9:30 Milwaukee start would allow fans to watch the Badgers game while tailgaiting, but the game would end at 1:00 AM or later. Games 2-3-4 are almost certainly going to be at the times listed above, unless the TBS schedule is wrong.
