  1. Yeah the Trop is sort of in the ghetto. And traffic is bad. But it's the last week of the season--they should suck it up at least for the important games. Here comes Braun, too bad he's not going to face the lefty.
  2. I think Red Sox fans are generally known to be some of the most passionate and knowledgeable in baseball. Although it is easy when you can spend $150+ million on players. Plus, this choke would be one for the ages. So I'll take back my previous comment, although I still do not claim to be very interested either way. It is just puzzling that Tampa/St. Pete can't get more people to see baseball there. I was in St. Pete a few months ago and there was Rays stuff all over the city, people wearing Rays gear, etc. Maybe they all stay home and watch it on TV?
  3. Thank goodness the Pirates are incompetent. I think the Brewers still have about a 50% chance of winning--unless RR plans on having Estrada pitch the last 3 innings.
  4. I really want to cheer for the Rays, but 18,000 fans at the Trop tonight? Unacceptable. Go Red Sox.
  5. If this is what happens when the Brewers give up a leadoff HR, I hope they keep doing it.
  6. I guess I do not see the purpose of a night off for Braun, isn't that what Thursday and Friday are for? And he will get even more time off if he doesn't have to fly to Arizona or Philly. Still, if the game is close tonight, I imagine Braun will be in by the 6th or 7th inning. But the Brewers will probably render it all null by winning easily
  7. Braun is hitting .382 in day games. So much for his problems with shadows.
  8. How much of the crowd is going to clear out at 3:00?
  9. What a fun game to watch when everything is going right. Hopefully we can get some help from San Francisco this afternoon.
  10. Wow, what a lucky inning. Everything going right.
  11. Kotsay is now 8 for 9 vs. Nolasco. That is why he is in today.
  12. Yep, Hart would be hitting cleanup for a number of MLB teams, including the Marlins and Pirates. I agree that his contributions will be needed in the playoffs. I do not think the bottom of the order will contribute much against the quality pitching that the Brewers will face in the postseason. Hopefully Braun and Fielder will get to see some pitches and not get walked all the time. Now, a scenario that I could see happening is the 7-9 starting a rally and Hart coming up with the big hit (like last night).
  13. A good scenario would be for both the Brewers and D'backs to win out, with the Diamondbacks mowing down the Phillies in the NLDS.

  15. The Marlins' announcers noted that McGehee is 0-15 against Florida this year.

  17. Braun likes making outs at home tonight. But with McGehee on deck, he may as well go for it.

  19. Fielder with a "30-1" season now :-)

  21. I like the new "MVP(S)" behind home plate. And Braun adds to his resume with a triple :-)

  23. Brewers, you did it. I am sorry for missing the entire game tonight. I thought you would clinch in Chicago. So you better make it to the NLCS so I can fly back to Milwaukee and make up for this. Because when this season is over, I expect that tonight will be just the beginning.
  24. I think the stat geeks ruined Braun's MVP. If we just went with the "winning team" formula like the good old days, Braun would win easily.
  25. One of my favorite Brewers of all time...http://mlb.mlb.com/images/2006/05/14/gLMcLu6w.jpg
