  1. Way to go Rickie--keep that bat on your shoulder and pray!!!
  2. Yesterday, I saw someone at the game with a "Gagme" jersey. They must really hate him to have spent the money on a custom jersey.
  3. I forgot that Hall is a bad baserunner. Inning over. Ouch. Booooo!
  4. Bill Hall, can you go deep please?
  5. Bush has finally been pitching up to his potential. I want to see him go the distance tonight. It isn't luck. I'm starting to think we need a Bush/McClung. pitching platoon. Bush at home and McClung on the road ;-)
  6. Grr. Leadoff hit erased in 30 seconds.
  7. Fortunately, it's the Pirates, so it only cost us 1 run.
  8. Dave Bush looks like he's pitching for his job.
  9. Sabathia is going to parachute in from a plane and land on the pitchers mound. Ned will come out of the dugout with a Brewers uniform and C.C. with proceed to bail Dave Bush out of a major jam and then win the game with a home run.
  10. Nice!!! Our playoff chances will take care of themselves--it's just fun to watch the Cubs lose like that, especially to the Cardinals!!!
  11. We need a chokejob by the Cubs here--get them started on a losing streak.
  12. My instinct is not to trust this report. Unfortunately, it is probably correct.
  13. It will be interesting to see if the Rockies end up regretting giving him that long-term deal. At least he didn't fall victim to something like salad tongs...
  14. He'll still be there--90% chance. I think you could see him drop to #8 in the lineup though--and get a higher frequency of Dillon/Counsell starting.
  15. I agree, I think Bush is the odd man out. However, he is worthwhile and would probably take some of Villanueva's role in the bullpen. I don't think it can be decided for sure--if Bush pitches poorly tonight, the decision is made, but if he goes 8 innings again, you have to think twice since McClung hasn't been going that deep into games. I assume Stetter would be the one to go in the bullpen. You could make a case for Mota as well.
  16. I was pulling for the Cardinals, although the ideal scenario would have been a 15-inning game with a final score of 14-13.
  17. He's a great middle reliever and has been valuable this year in close games where the starter left early. I would like to keep him there. Long term I could see him as a #5 starter, but I don't see any reason to move him.
  18. The Mets seem more likely to finish 2nd in the NL East than the Marlins. The Marlins have hit an insanely high 124 home runs while committing 73 errors (1st in NL) and compiling a 4.69 team ERA (14th in NL). They also have a -20 run differential, as they have won many games in their last at-bat. They can't keep at that offensive pace forever. Last night was just an extreme example of what has been going on the whole season. While the Marlins have been overachieving, the Mets and Braves have been underachieving. You have to like our chances against anyone in the NL East, though.
  19. Just got back from the game. Nice to see a relaxing win for a change that wasn't a nail biter. The only boos were for Kendall getting thrown out at 2nd. Hall got lots of cheers, even before he hit the HR. Let's keep it going!!!
  20. I'll be at this one. I haven't seen Sheets pitch in person in a few years...the last time also involved the Pirates--and Dave Bush in relief giving up a HR to Jeromy Burnitz. Go Brewers!!!
  21. The only silver lining that I can think of is that I have bowling league tonight and I usually bowl really well when I'm ticked off.
  22. I mostly just hate how much I let baseball affect my mood. I have a fun night planned and I'm going to be on edge until the game tomorrow because of this.
  23. I don't have a problem with bringing Mota in. It was actually a good spot to help him get his confidence back. Yost also got him out of there before any damage was done. Shouse has an ERA under 2 and is great at stranding inherited runners. Torres blew his first save of the year. I don't know who to blame, but I think the Mota experience is over now. The silver lining is that Sheets is going tomorrow against the Pirates, but that's going to be a long flight home to Milwaukee.
