There are lots of different ways to approach the game of baseball and I feel like BF.net has a great mix of all of them. Sometimes we look at the game from a purely statistical perspective and make arguments about the Brewers based on complicated statistics that the "average" fan wouldn't understand, such as playing 3TO and batting him leadoff. Sometimes we throw out all the stats and argue to play someone who is "hot", such as Kapler a few weeks ago. Some of us feel like management/coaching has a major impact on the team and will quickly point the finger at the coaches when things aren't going well, while others blame the players themselves for their failings. Some of us are really emotional and like to declare "must win" games in April or are always pointing out when "momentum" swings, while others are quick to point out that every game is only 1/162. Some us have elaborate beliefs about "fan etiquette" at games, others will let out their emotions, whether it is positive or negative. I think that's what makes this site really great and I really wish there was less animosity and more respect between the different viewpoints. Lots of it comes because most of us are really, really passionate about baseball. However, that doesn't change the fact that it's hard to come on this site after a tough loss. There doesn't have to be a "goat" for every loss, there doesn't have to be someone to blame every time. I really think that the "ESPN culture" has something to do with it, in that in recent years, the focus has been on analysis and not on highlights, so it's easy to over-analyze things for the sake of entertainment. Of course, our lack of patience due to the playoff drought has to matter as well. So lets try and get along and stop mocking the other side so much, otherwise we will become like stereotypical Cubs fans.
