  1. NWS reports the chance of rain at 90%, but there is hope of a window to get the game in before the front comes through in the evening. The specific timing and location of thunderstorms is so difficult to pinpoint though. I won't know for sure until we're actually looking at the radar tomorrow morning.
  2. I think moving to the NL helped him out. However, it's been a year now, NL hitters have seen his stuff, so hopefully (for the Brewers) there will be some regression this year.
  3. I don't have class on Monday afternoon, so I'll be watching it. It was definitely taken into consideration when I was picking my schedule back in November.
  4. Threads like this are the reason I love this site. I was young, but I remember the video, and I vote for slobber. We'll see on Friday, I'll be paying extra close attention.
  5. Weather update: Chance of rain reduced to 80% for Chicago, and there remains the chance that the heaviest rain could hold off until evening. So there is hope of getting this in!!
  6. They should try cloud seeding like China is doing for the olympic opening ceremony...
  7. Weather for the game: Showers and Thunderstorms (90% chance), heavy rain possible, severe weather chance towards evening Gametime temp: 55 degrees, rising to 60 Winds: Blowing in from RF, 20-25 mph The best chance of heavy rain is the afternoon/evening, so maybe they can get some of the game in before it rains.
  8. I think it comes from an extreme lack of patience due to the playoff drought. Although they should be respectful, you can't really fault some people for being sick of it. Other theory: maybe people were just angry from the Badgers game.
  9. The dream...is over.
  10. Curry...wow. The Badgers don't have a chance.
  11. 6 team fouls in 4 minutes. Wow.
  12. The Badgers are playing great, but Davidson is not going to keep up this shooting. Wisconsin will make halftime adjustments and slow the game down in the 2nd half. It's midnight, the clock bells are tolling, time for Cinderella to go home.
  13. Wow, Curry is for real. Flowers is playing great defense and Curry still has 11. After the slow start, the Badgers now look as good as they have all year. Hopefully Bohannon can step up with Hughes out, but I worry about fatigue in the 2nd half the way Flowers is flying around the court.
  14. Sloppy play early. Hughes has the jitters and they are turning over the ball way too much. Hopefully they settle in, otherwise we could be in for 40 long minutes.
  15. Sad to hear :-( I think I read that he is only expected to miss about a month, though.
  16. But a tornado would just do what the Cubs should have done 10 years ago--demolish the dump.
  17. Cubfan: The roof had a number of mechanical issues that lingered all the way through the beginning of the 2007 season. It is now fully functional (although some water still gets in). Going along with that, the Brewers had a somewhat embarrassing moment last year when a surprise downpour came with the roof 2/3 open during warmups and caused all the fans/players to run for cover--so you need to be careful. It's a good problem to have though. Sidenote: some of the models are now showing Monday with highs in the 60's with severe thunderstorms and a tornado risk. Stay tuned.
  18. The forecast suddenly looks really nasty for Monday in Chicago. On a positive note, some warm temps might sneak in and get the temperature into the 50s. On the other side, the norther half of Wisconsin is going to be greeted with snow on opening day. The thing about thunderstorms is that there's a decent chance to get a few hour break to play the game, so hopefully things will work out. Otherwise, I'm guessing they will make it up on Tuesday??
  19. This has all the makings of an amazing night for the Badgers--I can't wait!
  20. I took it. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the location of where cars were manufactured. Our family buys Toyotas, which are manufactured in Kentucky, so I consider them to be American. I assumed you wanted Japan though, so that's what I answered. If I owned a Ford minivan, I would consider that to be Canadian since that is where they are manufactured.
  21. I'll take off the Brewer goggles and say that the Cubs have a solid rotation this year. The Brewers have the superior offense, but it isn't by much. The Cubs have Lee, Ramirez, and Soriano as their three big hitters. We have Fielder, Braun, and maybe Hart as our big three. Weeks, Hardy, Hall, etc. all have major question marks. Dempster may not have started in ages, but Villanueva/Parra haven't started a full season either. They've done well in short stints, but does that mean they are good for the long haul? Wood may have injury concerns, but Gagne was terrible for the Red Sox last year and has the steroid cloud following him. So I think the Brewers have the potential to finish ahead of the Cubs and have a higher ceiling than the Cubs. I expect they will play about the same and the little things like defense and managing will be the 1-2 games that decides it. I don't think the Cubs rotation will duplicate last year's success either. But there is no way the Cubs will fall to 10 under .500 again this year. There is also no way the Brewers will blow as many 3 run leads as last year. The bottom line is that this year's NL is a battle to see who gets to fall to the Mets in the NLCS.
  22. UW-Madison Junior Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences
  23. Pedro, you are amazing. I'm definitely in.
  24. I was upset that I didn't find out about Bud being at UW-Madison until I read about it in the paper the next day.
