  1. I'm disappointed that he never panned out for us, but not really sad to see him go.
  2. I'm afraid of Pittsburgh, but we could probably play poorly and still take 2/4, which I'm sure all of us here would be more than happy with.
  3. I've been fairly impressed with the fireworks that Hales Corners puts on...at least compared to Greenfield.
  4. I've been to games in Toronto and Minnesota and I think field turf looks terrible. I know the grass needs replacing in patches a few times per year, but that still seems better than playing on ugly fake grass. Now, if they came up with a better version of field turf that actually looked like real grass, I might be in favor, but right now the new stuff still looks terrible.
  5. Hooray! A chance to get out of this.
  6. Please not Bush... I have painful memories of a Ben Sheets start going from a 1-1 game to a 6-1 game last year.
  7. How about we win the game by playing small ball? A walk would help...
  8. Impressive 2nd inning--3 doubles
  9. Go Brewers tonight. I asumme Vargas will be up to his usual self tonight that is pitching bad he'll probably not get out of the 4th inning and they'll have to bring in Crapellan after I expect Brewer-killer Wandy Rodriguez to dominate and Yost to be out-managed by Garner again and then maybe a big loss will get Yost fired, Vargas demoted and Capellan sent packing. Can't wait for gametime!!!
  10. I'm going to be in 412 tomorrow for my 9th game of the year. I'm 7-1 so far this year: 5-1 at Miller Park and 2-0 at the Metrodome. Go Yo!!!
  11. Back from Minnesota... Went to the Friday and Saturday games. I'd guess it was about 10-20% Brewers fans on Friday and 20-30% on Saturday...and we made lots of noise. On Saturday, the "Lets Go Brewers" chant was started up about 15 times, generally when the Twins fans were sitting there silently, and each time the Twins fans had to boo loudly to drown it out. After the game, we ran into a group of Brewers fans with a Brett Favre poster...I think they might have been the ones who were starting the chants. Also, back in Hudson, WI about an hour later, we stopped at a gas station and a McDonalds, were there were about 50 other Brewers fans as well. I would definitely go next year if you haven't driven up there recently.
  12. In case the Brewers ever "forget" how to win, I'm sure Ned Yost can remind them that they need to score more runs than the opponent after 9 innings...;-)
  13. I don't have season tickets, and considering the potential hype over the first playoff appearance in 25 years, I assume I would have to pay $100-$200 for a terrace seat in the NLDS. Maybe less if we get the 12:00 PM weekday games, but not much.
  14. Union Station in St. Louis was a fun stop. The Fudgery was very entertaining, and they also have a Cardinals clubhouse store that dwarfs anything the Brewers have to offer.
  15. I am sick of people letting Capuano off the hook and bashing Bush. Cappy is our worst starting pitcher right now and he hasn't performed in a whole year!
  16. This team is playing way better than the 2002 team. We aren't losing by double-digits yet, like we consistently did that year.
  17. Those were decent storms, but considering the "high risk" of severe weather, I was hoping for more. At least we got something out of it, though.
  18. Looks like tonight is going to be a disappointment for those of us who get excited for severe weather. The cirrus clouds in the afternoon prevented enough sunlight from reaching the ground to create enough instability to produce a widespread severe outlook. There could still be some severe weather, but it looks like nothing major at this point.
  19. Today is the best chance of damaging winds that we've had in several years. A derecho is possible, but smaller-scale straight-line winds are more likely. The storms will be moving at 40-50 mph! Details!!!
  20. Can't win them all, I guess. I think Yost made all the correct decisions tonight so I can't really fault anyone. Go get them tomorrow.
  21. Dave Bush really needs to understand that he is a pitcher and shouldn't be swinging there. Who does he think he is...Capuano?
  22. I see Pittsburgh has now moved into 2nd place. Pathetic.
  23. As frustrating as the Brewers have been lately, I am still thankful I am not a Cubs' fan, as that loss was far worse than anything we have blown this year, even the Philly game.
  24. We probably weren't going to win anyway, but that just hurts.
