  1. His last 5 games haven't been good, but if you make it his last 7 games he's got 3 homers. I wouldn't say that a .921 OPS and leading his league in home runs would be considered stats that "aren't even that good", either. I don't think he'll be an all-star, or probably even a starter for more than a season or two, but I would be shocked if he didn't OPS over .500 which is something Keston is having trouble doing. Compare that .921 OPS to other known scrubs like Pablo Reyes, Jace Peterson, and Keston Hiura himself when he was down there. Plus from what I understand it's a very hitter-friendly league. So what is your threshold for good then? 1200 OPS?
  2. This stinks of the steroids era all of again. MLB looked the other way for years on that. I know MLB wants to avoid another scandal but ignoring/covering it up is always worse than just coming forward. The longer it goes on, the worse it will be. They have a good excuse to come forward now. The lack of hitting is justification enough.
  3. He had 2 years of service time prior to this year, so 4 more years left. The 2 team options buy out the first two years of FA
  4. Is it possible to make subject lines blue, because this should be. That is an incredibly depressing thought. I noticed Jace was at 1b and Wes Wilson was at 2b and thought that was weird. Unfortunately, I think you may be right
  5. Well sure, but there are plenty of contracts that go south quickly. Lindblom is looking like one of them. It's a risk for both team and player. It's life changing money for Freddy regardless so he is doing fine. This signing is looking really good for the brewers though. Those two $8m team option years could be huge. Got to give Stearns some credit here
  6. Is someone clubbing Fisher in the shin whenever he gets close to finishing his 20 day rehab assignment? Isn't this his third straight rehab? The Brewers have to be well over the line as to the rules on this.
  7. It was a nice ride while it lasted. Nashville loses 1-0. Cannot blame Ashby. He gave up 1 unearned run over 7 inning. 1 BB and 11 Ks. That maybe enough to get him to the majors. His overall walk total is still too high, but this is the type of performance I'm sure the Brewers were looking for. If not now, he will be up soon.
  8. Congrats to the Sounds for making it 15 straight wins! Quite an accomplishment with the roster churn due to the Brewers injury/ineffectiveness early on.
  9. Thanks for posting this. Its interesting to see what these projections show. If the Brewers analytics are similar, it could explain why they are giving Shaw and Vogelbach a longer leash. It would be hard to find a better alternative if they were to put up a 729 and 775 OPS, respectively, going forward. That Jackie Bradley contract is looking bad though. A 678 OPS going forward would be horrible. Certainly better than the 488 he is putting up now, but wow. Tyrone Taylor projects similar numbers and is a lot cheaper.
  10. I'd give Nate Kirby a shot. 1.80 ERA in 10 innings, .409 OPS against at AA. He has been dominant in a small sample. He is also a 6 year minor league FA if we dont put him on the 40 man at the end of the year so we may as well see what we got. Otero has pitched well in even a smaller sample.
  11. Not sure why you want to DFA Yardley. He has three options left and we have 40 man roster room. We can just option him at this point. Plus, its still small samples we are talking about here. 13 IP is hardly enough time to call him ineffective and maybe the injury played a role. I'd be willing to give him another chance as he seemed so effective for us in 2019-2020 (again small samples but more of a track record)
  12. At least they got something for him. Clearly a lottery ticket since he has yet to play pro ball. Was just signed to a contract in January McKinney did what he did for us. He got hot early in the season and had some big hits, helping us to win some games. but he really looks like a AAAA type player now and we can easily move on. Next up Derek Fisher?
  13. Wow. Name another Brewer who is hitting over 400 with a 1139 OPS this year in the minors.... Seriously, he is depth for AAA. Low risk. Not too hard to like this pickup. Plus he is actually a true shortstop, which will be the first time we have someone like that at Nashville.
  14. Does anyone know why Sobotka has not pitched yet? He is listed on the Nashville roster (not on IL), but has not thrown a pitch yet.
  15. Gotta get these guys some AB. The brewers could field an entire team with their rehab players. Leaves little for the rest of these guys.
  16. Yardley has options yet, so I think he gets sent down. Both Weigel and Perdomo have had mixed success but I'd like to see more of them. One of the two will have to go down when Lindblom is ready.
  17. McKinney OPS = .671 in 87 PA. Garcia OPS = .762 in 123 PA. I'll take Garcia over McKinney any day. Now that McKinney is back down to his career normals, hopefully we stop penciling him into the lineup. It was a great ride while is lasted, but he should not be starting over anyone other than Vogelbach. We need to find a 1b... Maybe we can call up Green and give him a shot.
  18. Isn't Jed Gyorko still a free agent? Why wouldn't we sign him over Logan? Still find it odd he never signed on to a team. Maybe he refused to accept a minor league contract.
  19. Who puts Jace Peterson in cleanup in your opening day lineup? Thats like putting Kotsay in CF during a playoff game. Silly.
  20. I did not see Hummel, D. Cozens, or Z.Brown assigned to any team. I would guess they are currently on the taxi squad and will be assigned to AAA once the season begins. EDIT: DL stints listed in "Transaction Thread".
  21. Not really a surprise considering how he was hitting. If the plan was to send him down today, why did Counsell bat him in cleanup yesterday.. For how bad he has hit all year, you would think he would be donw further in the lineup
  22. Agreed. It did seem like Diaz was trying to make contact. He defintely took a step to the left. What a terrible call. Almost like the Umps are trying to get replaced by machines.
  23. I think its likely he will be claimed. Maybe the Brewers can swing a trade but whoever they get, wont be much. Sad to get so little for Will Smith.
  24. Taylor needs to get more ABs even if that means resting JBJ or Garcia. They need to ride the hot hand. I'm convinced he will cool off, but in the mean time, why wouldn't you plan him.
