  1. How can he do that and pinch run for himself at the same time?
  2. Something funny about walking Counsell to get to Marcum.
  3. I'm getting an MLB.TV feed. I can't believe they're actually getting this game in.
  4. HOW DARE YOUI wasn't even thinking of Betts, just about how bad some of the Jaha years were. Also...... http://www.wiffleball2k.com/allstar/celebrecap01.jpg
  5. Oh man, that made me laugh out loud and I don't know why. I guess I was hearing a depressed, unenthused stadium announcer in my head.
  6. What the? Why would Counsell run on this guy who couldn't find the strike zone with a GPS?
  7. He appears to be a nice guy who works hard. I've never seen any indication that he is lazy. Slow, yes, but not lazy.I don't know if it's the same on other boards, but there's a lot of "bad play = lazy" and "slow = lazy" on BF.net.Lopez is lazy. He doesn't run out hits and gives up running to groundballs sometimes. That's lazy. I haven't seen any laziness from Yuni. His range sucks, but he seems to be a team player and at least tries to make plays.
  8. I think McGehee thought that the play was going to be at home. We are talking about Prince Fielder scoring from second.
  9. Page 2 in the bottom of the 6th inning? Wow. I came in to say that I can't wait for Weeks to return. This offense is missing something.
  10. According to McCalvy, Narveson is already back throwing and could even pitch against the Pirates on Monday. I'm pleasantly surprised at this fast return.
  11. Nyjer Morgan is really bad against LHP. I'll agree with nate here, against a LHP it's best to put Lopez at 2B and bat him somewhere low in the order and stick JHJ in CF. RR seems to be managing this situation pretty well, but I would like to see JHJ at SS a few times just to see what sort of range he has compared to Yuni. Either way, I can't wait for Weeks to come back.
  12. Not to take away anything from Thome, but does it bother anyone else that some analysts and commentators are so quick to dismiss steroid use with Thome? I know that there is no hard evidence that he used them, but some people act like that in itself is concrete proof that he didn't use them. His biggest power years come from 1998 - 2008 in the heart of the steroid era. If you watched Kurkjian's piece or take a look at his rookie card, you can see how much bigger he became over the course of his career, especially in his Philadelphia years. I really like Thome as a player and a person and think that he deserves to be in the HoF, but I don't think anyone playing in the steroid era should be completely free of suspicion.
  13. Wolf has been really good this year, but his ERA is lower than it should be, as you saw watching today's game. However, he's a great #4. I'm with you UeckerAddict. I've never understood the backlash over Wolf not wanting to pitch to Lucroy. Lucroy probably needs a rest every 5 games anyway and the statistics (which I'm too lazy to look up again) prove that Wolf pitches better to Nieves/Kottaras then he does to Lucroy. It actually kind of bothers me that this "personal catcher" situation bothers people so much.
  14. The Brewers can go 20-1 in their last 21 games easy if they keep turning 5 double plays per game
  15. Why would Kemp be more valuable to the Brewers than the Dodgers. Doesn't he provide the same amount of value to both teams? Every year this award becomes an argument over what "valuable" means. I would agree that it should be renamed "The Best Player" award, but then we'd be arguing about what statistic best defines "best".
  16. One of my favorite things about RR is that he's not afraid to PH for his catcher and bring his backup in. We have two younger catchers who have the ability to play more often, so why not?
  17. I say yes. They tend to make monumental things like that #1. I don't know how they arrange the top plays on SC, but Thome's feat is certainly much more rare then the triple play.
  18. We SHOULD be losing this game, but instead Braunie puts us ahead.
  19. He wants to get the Brewers top two picks signed, but expects it to come down to the last minute. If that wasn't already obvious. Also there is a new foam finger available, lol. So no, you didn't miss anything.
  20. When things are going good, they're going good. Nice gun by Hairston to home.
  21. 4 6 3 2 triple play. Awesome!!!! I'd like to see it again though, because Kemp looked safe.
  22. All I can think is that GK can't bunt or is injured and RR wanted Wilson in as a defensive sub anyway, but yeah I don't get it either, especially in a close game.
