ESPN's Jerry Crasnick just did an article speculating on who will be the next wave of minor league players to be called up this year. Escobar was listed as one: The Brewers dipped into their farm system last week and called up third baseman Mat Gamel, who hit a home run against St. Louis in his first start. Then they summoned Hernan Iribarren to back up Craig Counsell, the designated replacement for the injured Rickie Weeks. Could Escobar, 22, be next in line? The Brewers just decreed that he'll begin playing second base as well as short for Triple-A Nashville. Judging from Escobar's skill set, the transition shouldn't be much of a problem. "He's acrobatic," said a scout who watched Escobar in the Cactus League. "He's got range, lateral quickness and arm strength. I'm not sure he's ready to hit right now, but he's a plus runner, and he's going to steal some bases. I think he's going to be a heck of a player." Next batch of top prospects to be called up

Chris Smith with another solid outing. I just don't understand why Julio continues to rot away in our bullpen with Smith dominating the way he is in AAA. -

The Cardinals are extremely close to becoming my most hated team. It irritates the heck out of me that they don't even bother to find out the reason behind the untucking of the jersey. They just automatically assume we are doing it out of disrespect and can't handle the fact that we are actually a pretty good team. -

Starting tomorrow, we will be facing four RH pitchers in a row. So it'll be interesting to see if Gamel starts all four.

Am I jumping the gun here or is it time to replace Nelson with Iribarren? As we all know, Nelson still doesn't have a hit while Iribarren continues to stay hot in Nashville. Thoughts?

To say Jeffress had a terrible first inning is an understatement. 3 walks, 5 runs, a homerun, and the inning isn't even over yet. Extremely frustrating. -
Looking at Smith's numbers from last year, he only walked 11 hitters in almost 60 innings in AAA Pawtucket. The guy just doesn't walk people. Looks like he also got promoted to the big leagues last year and struggled a little bit in 18 innings with the Red Sox. But I think it might be time to get rid of Julio and see what Smith can do in Milwaukee.

And he'll be 24 yrs old in July, so it's not like he's extremely young. He should be in Huntsville real soon.

Who is this Juan Sanchez guy? I see he played for the Twins organization last year and put up nice numbers in 42 games. How did we get him and is there any more info on him?

Why wish good luck to this selfish loser? He's the guy who refused to sign a team picture the rest of his team signed for an MS fundraiser. I hope he goes 0-5 with 5 K's, an error, and catches the swine flu.I didn't even know this happened. Okay, I wish him bad luck then.
