  1. If he were a year older, I could see him being a September call up but with the fact that he’s 19 and still in AA at this point, I don’t see it happening. I suppose they could promote him to AAA the last couple weeks of August and then to Milwaukee on September 1 or just call him up right from AA but that seems very unlikely.
  2. Black hasn’t hit much yet since his promotion but he’s still walking a ton.
  3. Quero at 34 and Misiorowski at 38 is what I’ve been able to gather from Twitter so far. Don’t have a subscription anymore.
  4. MLB Pipeline will be sending out their updated top 100 and top 30 for every team lists tonight. They listed Yophery Rodriguez as the Brewers biggest riser. Brewers: Yophery Rodriguez, OFMilwaukee signed Rodriguez -- then ranked as MLB Pipeline’s No. 22 international prospect -- for $1.5 million out of Venezuela back in January, and he’s been a prominent DSL performer so far, hitting .284/.432/.514 with six homers in 43 games. Even more astounding, he’s walked 39 times and struck out only 28 times for a 1.4 BB/K ratio that ranks second among DSL players with at least 190 plate appearances. Milwaukee knows how to develop outfielders, and Rodriguez could be its next success story.
  5. Just looking through the Mudcats lineup, I think the Timber Rattlers are going to be a lot of fun to follow next year with guys like Lara, Guilarte, Areinamo and Adams all getting the bump. Not sure if Wilken and Boeve will start the year in high-A (probably not I’m guessing) but that would be quite the lineup if they did.
  6. Biloxi is having a heck of a time getting anything going offensively against this Smokies pitching staff so far in the series.
  7. I’m getting major Schoop vibes from him.
  8. Yeah initial reports indicated it would be a fairly short-term injury but we’re going on a few weeks now. Hopefully just being extra cautious.
  9. Get ready for this board to explode if Flexen pitches a gem and the Rockies win the series.
  10. I’m a huge Counsell fan but he managed this game like he was drunk.
  11. Don’t we have pretty horrific numbers against Freeland as a team?
  12. This is really bizarre. There has to be more to this story, right?
  13. Hiura just needs to be released or traded in the offseason so everybody can move on with their lives.
  14. Yeah just saw that. Chourio was the first thing that popped into my head as well.
  15. I wonder if the Brewers are having internal discussions on whether to promote Chourio to AAA or if they’ve already made the decision to have him play out the year in Biloxi? I’m sure his age is about the only thing still keeping him in AA at this point. Still not walking a ton but his strikeout rate has greatly improved and all of his other numbers rank amongst the best in the Southern League.
  16. Imagine being an Angels fan. They were fairly big buyers at the deadline and have now lost 6 in a row. They’re probably going to lose Ohtani for nothing and last made the playoffs in 2014. All of this with Trout and Ohtani. What a mess.
  17. Would like to see the top of the order look like this going forward: 1. Frelick 2. Contreras 3. Yelich 4. Santana Draw names out of a hat from there but Adames shouldn’t even be sniffing the top 4.
  18. I can’t believe there are only a couple weeks left in the DSL and ACL leagues!
  19. Absolutely no excuse not to score a bunch of runs in this series and possibly sweep. The Rockies are bad. Really bad. That being said, we can’t beat bad teams so buckle up.
  20. I said this earlier in the thread but it wouldn’t surprise me if they have Black following a similar trajectory as Mitchell did last year. Mitchell was promoted to AAA in early August and then to Milwaukee a few weeks later. Could we see the same for Black?
