  1. I'd love to add German, but targeting Kansas City's advanced prospects or pre-arby big leaguers is rather pointless.
  2. I think thevaccinator27 probably has it right. This is probably just an older report before we aquired Counsell and when the Rockies initially inquired about Clark.
  3. A Clark forr Barmes trade would be the weirdest trade I have ever seen, unless they think they can pass him through waivers and send him to AAA. I guess you can never have enough SS in the system (but you can have enough in the bigs.)
  4. Yeah, I meant McPhearson.
  5. I would take him. I wanted him last offseason.
  6. He actually might be a target to revisit. I don't think they are in the market for an OFer anymore with the signing of Matthews. They also could replace Figgins at 3B with Kotchman. That said, I really don't know what it would take to get him. I don't think we match up very well. Maybe Jackson and Tbow? Too much?
  7. btw...Aquino is the closer in training when Coco Go-goes... I think Capellan would get the first crack at it.
  8. How many posts until we get one of these?: "It may sound crazy, but if we move Jenkins salary we could actually afford him!"
  9. I think that the Lieber to Milwaukee trade (if the rumor was even true) would have been contingent on Rowand going back to Chicago. He didn't, so the Philles now have a full OF (Burrell - Rowand - Victorino) and probably would no longer have interest in our package. I think the Lieber to Milwaukee "dream" is over.
  10. Victorino would be wonderful. Unfortunately, he's probably not available. This is from a Florida Newspaper: Victorino is penciled in as their starting right fielder next year, with Rowand in CF and Burrell in left.
  11. Rosenthal reports that its actually Haren's name that has been talked about, not Harden. Though sorry, I have no link. You'll have to trust me or look it up for yourself. (And he may be very good, but I still say Sheets is slightly better than them. Compare their K/BB. Sheets has an ever so slight advantage in K's, but never walks anyone.)
  12. Good news in my book. I predict its something totally different that hasn't been rumored.
  13. I think Pogo's got it.
  14. The White Sox have been trying to upgrade behind A.J. Pierzynski, with multiple reports suggesting they were trying for Brewers backup Damian Miller Could this be the deal Melvin has said was contigent on another deal, which recently happened?
  15. So there is a deal in place that we have no idea about? (Or that's what it sounds like?)
  16. I think hitter just figured him out and he didn't know how to adjust. He seemed to always stuggle to throw his slider/slurve pitch for a strike, even when he was pitching well. Hitters finally figured out that if you just wait for a fastball, you'll either get a hit or he'll walk you throwing slurves.
  17. Well, technically it can be a true and an internet rumor at the same time. Any rumor you hear on the internet is an internet rumor, true or not.
  18. Personally, I think that this is not the only deal Melvin is working on. This is just the only deal that has been leaked. Also, I'm sure Melvin will find a way to grab a nugget or an advanced prospect from the Phillies as well as Lieber.
  19. This has frustrated Milwaukee GM Doug Melvin, who is believed to have a number of potential deals in place, but has been told that any swaps with his club are contingent upon the completion of other deals. And has frustrated the throngs of people flocking to the chatroom at Brewerfan.net! Good to hear he's ready to start swapping. We just need to wait for some other chips to fall. Following up, the deals appear to be held up for a variety of reasons. There has been hesitation on the Brewers' part as to whether to include either reliever. A baseball source said Milwaukee loves Turnbow's stuff and thinks he can return to his 2005 form, and the club also likes Capellan's durability. Prediction: If we make this trade, we will include a reliever. However, we will also recieve a Melvin nugget along with Lieber. Not saying I like the idea though.
  20. I suprised the Ron Peterson signing didn't cause an uproar. I was going to set the over/under at 8 pages.
  21. I sure hope we don't give him that extra year (likely a 5th). Nor do I feel like overpaying.
  22. We've gone from faxing offers to Cirillo to e-mailing? Is this how the process actually works, or are these article snippets as backhanded as they sound? DM: "I've sent Jeff a contract offer with my carrier pigeon over the weekend, but he hasn't responded yet."
  23. Rejoice, rejoice. Eman-a-a-a-nuel.
  24. I would be against giving up Cappelan, but could we be looking at the 1st part of a three team trade? Mench, Capellan for Lieber and Rowand then Rowand and Miller for Vazquez/Garcia That would leave us with two highly paid starters, so maybe that's not it. Anyone got a better variation?
  25. It's heating up! I'd prefer Vazquez to Garcia, and both to Lieber, but would take any of the three. See the sig.
